Premier Pet Program put to sleep?
Info on carry-on dogs and the Premier Pet Program are nowhere to be found on the YX web site. The links are dead ends and take you back to the home page, noting a page error.
I do not recall hearing about their discontinuation; if gone, when did the changes occur? If discontinued, why? It appears that passengers now require a medical authorization form to bring their dog onboard Midwest and Frontier, effective Dec 2009. http://www.midwestairlines.com/uploa...portAnimal.pdf |
Yes for now there really isn't a PPP (Premier Pet Program) like there used to be. Pets now go below plane. Can you let me know where you found these links? We'll clean them up.

Only service animals are allowed in the cabin.

I never thought Pet Airways would have this much impact on airlines like Midwest :D
Seriously, though, I always thought Midwest's pet program was hyped way too much, considering the small number of people who likely took advantage of it. |

Perhaps Midwest should officially announce that the Premier Pet Program no longer exists as it continues to get frequent mention in the media.
During the last two days alone, Midwest Airlines and pet travel were highlighted in several places, including: How to have a jet set pet http://blogs.glam.com/glamnest/?p=6751 Uno the Beagle remains a superstar http://www.bnd.com/news/local/story/1134073.html Every time I look at my Google news alerts for Midwest it's amazing to see how much interest this program still generates. It's generally positive (and free) publicity for the airline. Like mke9499, I'm also curious as to what happened with the program. |
No pets in the cabin anymore on Midwest? I agree, the Premier Pet Program was very well publicized; every time I used to call reservations and was put on hold I remember the recording on the hold message promoting it.
If anyone wants to go to the dark side ;) AirTran allows small dogs, cats and birds as carry-on on all flights for a $69 fee. According to the SkyWest web site one pet per flight is allowed on the SkyWest codeshares out of MKE as well. |

Newly redesigned page with details about current pet program, including video:
http://www.midwestairlines.com/Progr...PetTravel.aspx Judging by the last scene of the video, it looks like some celebrity dogs may still be flying Midwest. :D |
"Premier Pet Program put to sleep?"
Gotta love this thread title. |

Gotta love this thread title. I like the acronym for the program, "PPP". Maybe this is the reason YX no longer allows pets in the cabin. :D |
