It could be a legit question. On my first trip to Moscow, as part of a basketball team, a bunch of us had shaved heads. That garnered some ugly looks on the street. A couple days into the trip, I asked our Russian guides what the deal was: they explained that Russian men don't often voluntarily get their heads shaved. Only prisoners have their heads shaved. (This was early 90s, for what it's worth.)

No idea about Iran. If I still had a shaved head, I'd probably try to figure out somewhere whether that had any significance in local custom.

for real

legit question.

looks like men also do not sport skin head haircuts. will have to grow it out and maybe attempt to grow a beard as well.

better to blend in somewhat.

I wouldn't suggest there's any need to grow a beard. I visited Iran several years ago and several people mentioned they were hesitant to talk to me at first because of my long-ish beard (after several months travelling).

Iran is a diverse country - unless you specifically want to get on particuarly well with more conservative people in society there's no need to go out of your way to "blend in". A skin-head haircut may well be unusual and something which will make you stand out, but beyond that there's no need to try to fit a specific regional stereotype.

Enjoy Iran - the people make it an amazing place to visit!

Umrah, too.

And I don't believe Iranians are immune from hairloss and baldness 🙄
