Luxury Hotels in Dubai This Summer
I am considering where to go for the summer. Dubai and Abu Dhabi both have very cheap 5-star hotels this summer that would fit my budget.
I am looking at two hotels. Melia Dubai for 56 dollars http://bit.ly/21u3GrK and Royal Rose in Abu Dhabi for 55 dollars per night http://bit.ly/28IBh0u
Which one would you choose? Any experience with any of them? Incredible value for money or are they not that great?

Hardly luxury, but very good value nevertheless. Many GCC hotels have great summer offers, due to the heat. I would avoid in July and August personally, September is a good time and from October on you can just lounge outside all day long without ever leaving. Especially the cabanas at FS Dubai are sublime for that.

upscale/luxury may start at barely more than that, with free night offers

Thank you, Kagehitokiri. It's just that I usually try to spend as little as possible on a nice hotel.
Anyone knows the former Taj hotel now called Jood Palace? It's only $46 http://www.hotels25.com/Hotel/Search...ition=rates,80

Hotels are very cheap at the moment for sure, but you still need to spend at least 80USD per night for anything half decent.
Hyatt Capital Gate and Le Royal Meridien are good value for money.
But quite honestly, you would have to be a bit mad to voluntarily come here during the height of the summer. It is already very hot, and will only get hotter as we get closer to August. Punishing temperatures during the day, horrible humidity at night.
