Question Dubai layover from 7:50 AM to 9:35 pm, where can I go?

Hi there!

I have a long layover in Dubai from 7.50 am to 9:35 pm on a Thursday. I need some suggestions as to where I can go and what can I do. Please help !

Do you think taking a cab from the airport to the city is a good idea? How much roughly is the cab fare? From my research, seems like the city is pretty close to the airport and the cab fare would be less than $20 USD...is it true?

Lets say I am going to get a cab, where should I tell the cab driver to take me to? I don't really feel like going to malls, I prefer seeing things like mosque, building etc...dessert if I can.

Thanks in advance for your responds ! .

Thanks !!!

Your question has been asked and answered myriad times over.
Suggest you try doing a search "Dubai layover" and a small sampling =

With an 11 hour layover, you'll definitely have time to take the bus to Abu Dhabi and see the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. I found it to be the single most stunning sight in the UAE.

Thanks so much for your suggestions. I am debating whether I should do the big bus hop on hop off tour?

Questions:-
1-where can I take the bus from ( which stop)? Do they have a stop at the airport? If not I assume I would have to take a cab to the nearest bus stop. Where is the closest bus stop from the airport?

2-Where should I hop off..I am trying to picture all the different stops. I dont want to wonder too far and not being able to get back to the airport in time to catch my next flight.

To be prudent, I think I should be back at the airport at 7:00-7:30pm.

Thanks for your input!!
