Prepaid SIM in Egypt?

I searched but could not find answer to this.

I will be travelling from the U.S. to Egypt (Cairo, Aswan & Luxor). I have an unlocked quad-band phone. Can I get prepaid SIM card in Cairo? Is it available at the airport. Would it be crazy expensive at the airport and better to wait until we get to the city? Is it easily purchasable by tourist.

Any suggestions/recommendations? I foresee using my cell for maybe max of 30-60 mins (calling hotel, making a few price enquiries etc)

TIA.

I bought a Vodafone SIM on the street no problem. I briefly looked at CAI and again at LXR but did not see a vendor selling SIMs inside either airport. (Granted, I only had access to a tiny part of CAI...the F and G gates.)

There are two or three other prominent providers...service has been good for me everywhere, all the way down to near the Sudan border (Abu Simbel).

There are phone shops practically everywhere...even in some of the little towns on the road between Luxor and Aswan. Bigger cities have them everywhere.

Both Vodafone and Etisalat are good, the latter having better prices. You shouldn't have to spend anymore than 15-20LE on the SIM card.

How much better is Etisalat in terms of international calling rates? I just started with Vodafone in Luxor because there was a shop selling their SIMs outside my hotel. I have a week in Cairo next...is it worthwhile to switch considering the SIM itself is so cheap? I do maybe 10 minutes of calling per day...seems to be costing about 3LE per minute or so.
