Question UA-EK transfer time at DXB

I am flying IAD-DXB on UA and connecting to DXB-BLR on EK. The travel agent says that I am getting two separate tix. My questions:

1. Is 2 hours enough transfer time?
2. Will I be able to check my bags in all the way thru, even if they are separate tix?

Thanks.

I flew IAD-DXB-ISB just a few days ago, with IAD-DXB on United and DXB-ISB on EK. UA was able to issue my EK boarding pass and to check my bags all the way through to ISB, but I think my itinerary was all on one ticket. I had a 2.5 hr layover, and I felt like I had more than enough time. Lots of walking to do though when walking over from Terminal 1 to 3 at DXB.

2 hours should be enough time to get through immigration and to terminal 3 (EK only terminal). UA is very good about checking bags through to other members of the Alliance. Long walk though. You will feel like you have hiked to Kuwait.

My biggest issue with Dubai airport is the LONG walks to get to immigration. It takes a good 20 minutes to get to immigration and that is walking and using the people movers when available.

I have never gone into T3 to fly Emirates but it takes a heck of a long walk just to get your bags and be on the outside. UA does have interline bag agreement with EK so that isn't an issue. Cutoff is 1 hour till take off, thus 2 hours without having to worry about bags is fine.

if you are really concerned contact a marhaba service that will whisk you away in a golf cart from gate to immigration.

Just completed my trip IAD-DXB-BLR and back. UA interlined to EK just fine and vice versa. It was really a very long walk between the terminals. I wish I had read the comment about getting a golf cart before the walk. Although after the awesome and huge dinner on the EK flight, I needed the exercise.

I loved the DXB airport with all the duty free shopping, but they really need to add some mode of transportation between the terminals.
