Dinner and a movie in Montgomery County, MD

If you find yourself in the Rockville-Gaithersburg area of Montgomery County Maryland and are looking for a nice area to grab some dinner and a movie, may I suggest the Kentlands area. Several new restaurants have recently opened, giving the area a nice variety of cuisines all in a pedestrian friendly area.

First there is the Kentlands 8 movie theatre with all stadium seating. The theatre is expanding to 10 screens and adding a small cafe.

Sit down dining options:
1) Tandoori Nights - Good Indian food in a beautifully decorated restaurant. (I-Dine restaurant) http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp...ile&id=1078369

2) HaKuBa - Japanese. Washingtonian's 100 Very Best. This restaurant has very good sushi, and provides outdoor seating in the summer http://www.washingtonian.com/dining/...il.asp?id=1743

3) The Last Mango - Caribbean. This restaurant/ sports bar just opened last week. It has great promise but I cannot comment on the food yet. The owners are very experienced in the DC area bar scene (Buffalo Billiards), but their restaurant skills are yet to be tested. The menu looks nice.

4) Buca di Beppa - Mass produced Italian. Not worth a visit in my opinion, but it's still popular with families and groups.

5) Vasilis - quaint little Greek restaurant. This is a small (about 12 tables) restaurant on Main Street where the Live/Work town homes are located. Daily specials are usually excellent along with the Greek staples you'd find in any Greek restaurant.

6) Taste of Hong Kong - decent little Chinese restaurant. Good dumplings and noodle dishes.

7) O'Donnells Seafood - Popular seafood restaurant. Never actually eaten there.

8) Potomac Pizza - Sit down and carry out. Decent pizza. Nothing to write home about.

9) Star Diner - 50's style diner. Popular with teens and young families. They have a Tiki Bar outside on the Summer weekends along with live music. There is also a putt putt golf course

10) Taboulli - Lebanese. This restaurant is due to open in July.

11) There's also a small Sushi restaurant due to open any day now on Main Street.

Fast Food:

1) Moby Dick House of Kabob - Very popular Persian Kabob restaurant.

2) Baja Fresh - good little Mexican fast food restaurant.

3) Noodles - Decent quick Asian or Italian noodle dishes or salads. www.noodles.com

4) Cosi - soup sandwich, and pizza shop. I was disappointed here. Poor service. I may give it another try, but not anytime soon. http://www.xandocosi.com/

Other:

1) Wine Harvest - Nice little Wine store/bar. You can purchase the wine off the shelf and pay a small corkage fee to drink it on premises. They also offer a small selection of appetizers.

2) Pepernata Pasta - Awesome little pasta shop on Main Street. Very friendly owners will cook the pasta for you if you don't have cooking facilities at your hotel. They also have homemade sauces and desserts. http://www.peperonatapasta.com/index.html

I'll try to add more to this as I try out some of the newer restaurants.
