EWR just went from bad to worse (disabled aircraft 4/14)

The 80 minute average delays due to the runway construction and gusty winds, an aircraft just became disabled on a runway or taxiway driving the average delay over 2.5 hours.

Edit: they're now noting debris on 22L

Runway cleaned up now, but the program rate remains low to clear the airborne inventory. Still 2.5h+ delays.

any lead on what caused the issue to begin with? which plane/carrier/tail # etc?

Didn't say, but it sounds like it was just debris not a disabled aircraft according to another update.

I was told by people that flew in to EWR yesterday that they were told by their pilot (while holding over NY/NJ) that a gear-up landing had occurred - I suspect that's the "disabled aircraft" referred to here.
