Atlantic City hotel Aug. 25

Anyone have any tips for securing a hotel rate in Atlantic City for Aug. 25 (a Saturday night) that isn't ridiculously high? I'm already a rewards member at most of the casinos (and secured a free night at the Trump Taj the next night), but none of them seem to offer any deals for Saturday nights.

Would it be worth a phone call to the rewards people to see if they can lower the astronomical rates I'm seeing on that Saturday night? I thought AC was hurting!!!!

It's virtually impossible to get Saturday night hotel deals in AC in the summer unless you have one of the highest level rewards cards. My husband and I will be very happy once Labor Day comes around and we can get a comp room in AC on Saturday night again.

I know the feeling. I've been searching the past 2 wks for a for a 9/2-3 date & everything seems to be in the $300 range. The SO wants to see a show @ the Tropicana. Its $299. I think I may be staying farther out @ the HI for 20k pts & $70. The tix already cost me $270 (minus $25 due to AMEX ticketmaster.com promo). Does the Tropicana have discount codes or even do AAA? I know that's a crazy question?

The Comfort Inn may be cheap, but it's on a commercial strip on the alternate route into Atlantic City and not within walking distance to AC. There isn't much around there except for marshland, so you need to get in the car to do anything like eating or going to the AC boardwalk and casinos.

I realize that as well, but they are looking for cheap and FREE is about as cheap as you can get... and mommafrica is thinking about HI which is not in town anyway.
