Award travel Chicago - Cancun ? (Amex, AA or SW points ?)
Which airline / airline partners should i be looking into for award travel Chicago<->Cancun in December ?
Trying to get an idea of if there are particular airlines which usually have better deals for this route ? I looked up American and they were at 37Kmiles in december - not the best use i guess. I have never flown this route before.
I have AA miles, Amex MR and SW RR.
Also the SW economy ticket is coming out to be $500 round trip on those dates.
Any suggestions which airlines i should be looking into ? or am i better of buying these tickets ?
Thanks,

I recently used my SW RR.
All in, it was a moderately rewards price trip. We were happy with it.
SW has direct flight from Chicago to Cancun, don't they?

Mid to late December is high demand season. AA begins releasing award seats 330 days out, and anything to CUN in high season is not likely. If you can find availability now, book it (I'm assuming when you use SW you mean WN). Fares are only likely to go up as the lower fare buckets are bought up.
