"Extra adult charge"????????? (rant)

Anyone ever see that?? Was looking at the new FFI in dowtown Baltimore.

At any rate (AAA, Sr, Full rate), if you put in 2 adults it slaps on an extra 10 bucks per night to the rate.....(but, "children MAY be exempt"). So...for 2 adults in a room with either 1 OR 2 beds, they want an extra 10 bucks.

THAT is ridiculous...especially when it is NOT on a weekend...at 199 a night...for only TWO adults.....

Can we say CHEAP?????????

Never saw that in my life. If you want to charge more to cover food costs, then do it on a weekend...when it is OVER 2 people in a room...to Marriott rewards Nobodys....

Sheesh......

funny in all my years booking ressies with marriott brands i have NEVER seen this until this one particular property..............

(not even when i worked for marriott in reservations.....)

i think it is ridiculous. especially since they already charge more for 2 beds (like 8-9 bucks...), THEN more for my mom??? uh, not staying there. silly.

You obviously don't travel in Europe and/or check for single occupancy. Reduced rates for singles is very common, especially in Germany.

I agree with the OP...for a US hotel, it's pretty cheap.

In many European cities, the single rooms are often called "mother-in-law" rooms. They are much smaller than a normal double room. Not saying this is the case all the time but at least part of the time.

I agree with you 100%! I have been a Marriott plat since the early 90s and I just ran into this myself for the first time. I was looking to book the Mount Pleasant FI and I saw the same charge and description as you did.

This must be another recent "enhancement" by Marriott, ridiculous! I thought only the Motel 6s of the world did this in the US.

In the past I have seen this at Hampton Inns. That is why I also check both the 1 and 2 person rate - when I am the only one in the room.
