I'm staying at the Copenhagen Marriott now, and I'm loving it. Nice room, upgraded to water view, free internet, and I haven't been charged for parking. The lounge is great, if sometimes crowded. Short walk to several sites of interest. Expensive? Yes. But I'm staying on points, so I'm happy with my choice.

The lounge is not the best I have seen at a FS Marriott, but also by far not the worst. 'So so' is a too harsh judgement in my view. I would say fine but not outstanding. It can get crowded though.

I've been there last December and was very disappointed. The quality and the service is far away from the Marriott standards including the hospitality on the executive lounge which is still at the ground floor and mostly very crowded. Avoid a room at the "executive level". You may end up in a middle of a construction place.

I have a question. We booked an award stay here for three nights. DH added my name to the reservation, but now he isn't going and I have a friend going with me instead. He says I should be fine as when he added my name to the reservation originally, I was going to be arriving first and checking in and that was noted in the reservation.
Thoughts?

Though maybe it is the big cruise weekends and they are restricting for that. There are some pretty crazy weekends where a lot of cruise ships change passengers in Copenhagen and both hotels and airport seem to be more than chaotic.

As the category assigned is completely out of sync with the reality provided, I tend to not want to pay the points price for the property.

A bit further out on the metro line there is also a Crowne Plaza. The Radisson properties are fairly convenient, but I never had any Carlson points so I can't advise there.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Copenhagen Marriott in September 2016, and would be very happy to stay there again. I paid 40K points per night. We parked with no charge and also used uber several times -- which worked well and was reasonable. A good choice. As for the lounge, yes, it's on the ground floor, so no view. But the food was excellent, I thought. Some of the best breads and pastries I've tasted and a very good selection for breakfast. We had three separate stays during the course of a vacation, and all of the rooms were lovely. Perhaps my experience and standards are less than some forum commentators, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
