Does Marriott Status Match?

I am a Diamond with Hyatt and have been sort of frustrated with their service lately. I was wondering, if I Marriott matches status and give me a chance to switch to them.

PLease share if anyone has had any success getting status matched.

Thank you

Marriott generally does not match, but some posters have reported success.

I recommend you take longing4piedmont's suggestion and do a search.

Take a look at Hilton. I was Hilton Diamond and tried Hyatt and Marriott for a while. I ended up switching back to Hilton. Hilton isn't perfect, but it beats the others. Hilton will definitely comp to Gold and has sometimes comped to Diamond. It is worth asking.

I didn't get a match, but I did get a comp to platinum (!). At the time, I was Diamond with Hilton, and I had a history of doing business w/Marriott, as well as future plans. I spoke with the folks at SLC, and wound up mailing all my documentation, along with a cover letter.

I was polite, and asked them for some consideration --- I expected Gold and got Platinum.

PS - I've put in over 90 nights since then, so I guess it was a pretty good gamble on their part.

Some are lucky and some are not. We sent in everything (HHDiamond) was staying at a full-service Marriot and they wouldn't do anything. We now have over 100 nights at Hilton with only 6 at a Marriot. Give it a try with Marriot.
