My post-November change award nights show up in a different spot --- I'm wondering if they are manually going back to give credit for pre-change award nights somehow.

I don't think it's award nights. I haven't redeemed any that would qualify. I think it's just a glitch.

Well, that theory's out the window then.

It's a glitch.

Too bad the SPG folks aren't receiving this benefit --- I've never received glitch points or nights from SPG.

Award nights show up under "stays," or at least mine did. The only promotion nights I have for the year are from the birthday e-mail, although I was up to 6 or 7 when I last looked.

The multiple promotional nights credit is a software glitch, according to the person I talked to at Marriott.

The question is then, can they locate the members receiving the extra nights and fix it?

How does one get a birthday promo night? I have zero promo nights in the year (and my birthday has long since come and gone).

In your profile you need to provide your birthday (month, day). Technically on that date or around it, you'll receive an email saying Happy Birthday & offering an elite credit night as a present. You must click on the link in the email to receive it; it's not done automatically w/ issuance of the email. That's how it's worked to date. Not sure if they're changing the program. And no, the birthday elite nights are retro-active - ie, if you sign up now & they keep the program, you'd get the email on your birthday next year.

Cheers.

I had 10 birthday (promo) nights credited --- they clawed back 9 of them. They would show up randomly --- including one within the last week.

It was discussed here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...y-account.html
