"About two weeks after the promotion ends on or about May 15, 2015, I will manually credit the bonus from the alternate offer to your account."
This is comparable to what I've seen in the past.

I'm kind of new to the Marriott promos
If the Spring promo ends 4/30 and a new one does t start until June, is there no promo for May? I have two stays for May and was looking forward to something....

Rumor has it there will for the first time in history be no summer bonus.

Bummer for me (and Marriott) as I have booked 7 nights at Ren Blackstone in ORD and Marriotts up and down the CA coast for our summer PCH drive, plus many other one and two nighters. If this turns out to be true, it will be time to cash in some Starwood points on cash + points stays.

I'd heard around June 15, but to be fair to the rep, she did say nothing has been confirmed yet. This was also over a month ago and she was probably working on past experience.
I have a hard time believing that there would be no summer Mega Bonus, but as the economy has roared back in the last 6-9 months, what I see on the casino side (the industry I work in) is a hunger to take the money faster than ever before. So, maybe in a similar vein, since HH's promos pretty much blow, Marriott may think they're competing against themselves.
I'm ok with this, I'm almost a lock for PL in 2016, and the only issue is will i make HH Gold again. I'm too good a shopper to likely be considered for PP.

After lurking FT for years, I finally registered just to comment on this post. While I'm not platinum elite like many here, I am gold elite, and spend lots of my time in marriott branded hotels.
Marriott Rewards base points system isn't that great in my opinion, but the promotions are what have kept me loyal for years. As a supplement, the promotions make up for what the base points system lacks. However, the promotions continue to be not as common, and continue to decline in value.
The days of promotions at all times--when one ended, another began were great. Also, the free certs for category 4/5 hotels after 2 paid stays is much more desirable than "2500 points after 2 stays." What does 2500 points get me? 8 hours in a category 1 hotel?
I just started using starwood recently due to their points system being a bit more friendly. Also, Wyndham just changed their points system, all hotels are 15k points a night! One hotel I stayed in Boston earlier in the year was 40k points that I had saved for YEARS with wyndham (because I've been loyal to Marriott, only staying with others when I HAD to), and it is now 15k points.
What I'm getting at Marriott, is that... we do have options... and your promotions/points systems continues to decline.
