I thought the logout problem was me .... but looks like its been all over the Android Play comments for months. A shame that someone doesn't fix something that should be easy. For me, it makes the app basically worthless since the only time I need it is when I am checking an address or telephone number while on the move. I can't get those unless I log in which defeats the whole purpose. Interesting how a bad app adversely impacts a view of a great company.

I use Android, the husband iOS. We both have more logout problems with Marriott than any other app.

Marriott app will be updated throughout 2015. They will add additional functionality first (location awareness, bluetooth/NFC as room keys, etc) and also new design. Their current design is from a tool which specializes in cross platform design so it's super generic (and crappy) to make it easy to bring port between OS platforms.

Great that they are adding all that. Can they first fix this simple issue?

One thing I'd really find helpful is for the app (or MR site) to be able to properly add reservations to my Google Calendar. I can do this with one click on Hilton's or DL's site. @:-)

Notifications

Beyond always having to sign-in to the App, what really drives me up a wall are the notifications. For example, mine shows I have 20 notifications. But, when I load the App, there is no where to find them, or delete them. So, the notification calendar just keeps increasing over time.

Sorry for rants that are about to follow, but the Marriott app infuriates me. It has replaced SWA as the worst travel app I use. Half the time I give up and call the platinum number (which I absolutely love).

Oh come on, that's a joke of an excuse. This isn't 2000 where your options for cross platform development were all terrible like wxWindows, GTK or Java Swing. There is nothing truly complicated about the current Marriott app. I could design a better cross platform app in a weekend with Xamarin.

Right. This seems to be the mentality of phones/apps these days. They pile on a ton of crazy new features but not fix basic problems or add simple features that should have been there from the beginning. We have things like NFC payments, wireless charging, etc, etc... but Android still can't have a good interface for searching text messages?

Hey, I'm there with you, just saying how it is. Something better is in progress though
