marriott grand chateau

Considering a stay at the marriott grand chateau while I am in vegas. I notice on the marriott website that it is considered a vacation club. I'm wondering if this would impact someone in my situation as I do not know what that designation means. I am doing the plat challenge so I obviously want to make sure all my stays count towards that and I intend to pay with marriott gift cards. Would either of these things create an issue at places designated vacation clubs?

It should not impact either, but to make sure about the GC, just call the hotel.

you will get nights credit for every paid night you stay at a vacation club, but there are no gold/plat benefits.

Grand Chateau is NOT a hotel it is a Marriott Vacation Club Timeshare.

Yes its a timeshare, but they rent rooms and villas as a hotel as well. They will post to your account as a normal hotel stay.

I stayed there a few weeks ago. Very nice. A block to the Strip. Got points and night credit. Nice food shop in the lobby and full kitchen.

I stayed there a few weeks ago. I'd go again - nice to have a fully-equipped kitchen and no casino to walk through.

You definitely get points and elite nights. But there's no gold or platinum benefit there - no lounge, no room upgrades, no late checkout (such as it is).

Is the construction still going on? A lot of reviews talk about the construction kicking in at 7am. I am considering this property for a Thursday night stay.

Yes it is. Where my room was (35th floor, facing East), it wasn't a noise issue, at least a few weeks ago. But I'd imagine this is a moving target.

Construction will be going on for some time.
I like the GC and prefer it to the Cosmopolitan.
I have had no problems getting a 1pm checkout the past 3 years as an FYI but I leave on Thursday which is not their busiest time.

Not a fan of the hotel... Paid the upgrade for the one room with washer/dryer.. The equipment was defective. Not only ruined some clothes, but did not dry them.. Come 10am we were booted from the room and threatened to be charged $50 an hour late checkout.. Left with wet uncleaned clothes, and well this was four people! Really crap experience. Offered 5,000 points, not even a price difference of the rooms.. I even inquired about switching to the cheaper room, and was told I would be charged a $48 room change fee..
Real crap service here, stay away!

How about checking out on a Monday? 10am checkout really stinks.

Thanks - based on that I wouldn't stay there.

Cheers.

I got a stay coming up this week for here. For 98 a night I figure how bad can it be and it keeps me near the strip.
