Hi,

googled it out of interest

https://theenglishhotel.com/rooms

Not sure of the idea of a glass wall bathroom and shower that can be seen from the bed ( not sure if they have blinds)

Location is not for me

Regards

Location works for me as I have a business meeting so
quick ride share to & from.Don’t want crowds and casinos to deal with in the morning
I called the hotel and they let me know they honor late 4 PM
check out as well as a 20 dollar per person daily breakfast credit.Might even get a glass of juice 😂
Boutique hotels are primarily selling cool factor and sexiness def not an InterContinental 😮
Don’t think they have suites either.Read that the hotel is prefab?
lol it says for those that are shy you can dim the lights. Is there a blackout button at my age?😀

Many places have see thru showers, but the see thru toilet seems a bit creepy.

It might be glass that becomes opaque with an electric switch.

We just stayed here for two nights and loved it.

Small hotel for Vegas, so nice boutique feel. Service at front desk and bar/ restaurant was great. Free self parking, although the car park isn't huge. They also offer a Tesla amenity at a cost. No coffee in the room, but coffee and water available 24/7 in the lobby.

Breakfast was offered as welcome amenity, and you get $22 dollars value (coffee doesn't count towards this), which was enough for a cooked breakfast and a side. One morning I had the "full english" and another the omelette, both very nice. Other half also had the omelette and also had the benedict one day.

You get a voucher for a free cocktail at the bar (though only one per room), and they also do a good happy hour. We had some happy hour nibbles whilst having our cocktail and they were also excellent. We had more cocktails on the last night and the place was packed at around 11pm on a Thursday night, the cocktails were again excellent.

We love this location, the Arts District has been a favourite of ours for a while and just keeps getting better. Very happy there is now a hotel in the area to save on ubers! Bars, micro breweries and restaurants are great, we like perusing the antique shops and galleries (although there are fewer antique shops than there used to be), and it felt totally safe. We even walked back from downtown late at night and it was fine. We walked to the strat and back in daylight and felt fine, but it's quite an isolated stretch so I probably wouldn't do that at night. The new comedy club down there is also great.

The glass wall thing - apparently if you keep the room lights on and the bathroom lights off you can't see in.... we never actually tested that though.

hmmm on the firmer side I think? We prefer a firm bed and thought it was comfortable.

I also enjoyed myself having stayed there for business back in March of this year. As a titanium guest, I too was able to have whatever I wanted for breakfast without having to pay. Very friendly servers! I do not recall vouchers for the evening but perhaps they were not operating fully due to COVID? On check-in, I was presented with a bag of goodies including water and snacks - much appreciated given my late arrival. Not sure if these were only for elites or all guests. I found the staff to be friendly in a particular sort of way (hard to explain, but totally pleasant). I was also wanting to avoid the smoky/noisy/casino vibe at the hotel that had partnered with our event so the English Hotel was perfect!

Aside from the bathroom - which I agree was strange with the shower very visible from the room, the layout of the room (I was told that I was upgraded to a junior suite) was also unconventional in an artsy sort of way with unique furniture & décor. I quite liked it except that there was no desk. Therefore, when I returned to my room at night to deal with email messages, I had to get creative, placing some items on the coffee table to prop up my notebook. Not ideal but it was really OK.

One last point on the bathroom for what it is worth; my wife loved the "English" soap bars (citrus with cleansing grains).

Finally, I must agree that the hotel is in what felt like a pretty deserted immediate area so while I was happy to walk the mile or so to my event each morning, at night, I spent the few dollars required to take an Uber/Lyft back to the hotel. Walking would have felt like asking for trouble.

I do not remember the mattress firmness but I slept well.

Perhaps as the ultimate appraisal, I have already rebooked at the English Hotel for the same event next March...

Not sure where your event is, but if you come out of the hotel main entrance (not the pool/bar entrance) and turn left, you are only a couple of blocks from loads of bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Turn right and you will head towards downtown, hitting city hall etc before you get to Fremont street. Both of those should be fine - we walked both stretches at midnight with no issues.

the part I wouldn’t walk at night is between able baker brewing ( the last of the main populated stretch) and the stratosphere.

Stay December 14-16

I just styaed at The English, checking in on Wednesday, December 14 and checking out on Friday, December 16. When I arrived at about 7:30pm, there was no parking available in their lot, so I parked on the street without any issues. I also parked on the street the following night. I was told at the front desk that it is two hour parking on the street starting at 8am, which was no issue for me since I had to leave well before 10am on both days.

I checked in and was given a goodie bag with a Diet Coke, chips and some beef jerky. I was also given a token to be used at the restaurant, The Pepper Club, for a free drink. I used it for their barrel aged old fashioned, which was a $22 savings. I had lunch there on Thursday, December 15, along with some other food and drinks, which were all good. Unfortunately, when I received my points for the stay, my restaurant spend was not included. I have emailed customer service to see if that was in error.

I was upgraded to a pool view room that included a small patio outside of the room. The "see through" shower had a covering around it with "The English" branding on it, so it would not be an issue if I were staying with anyone else in the room.

Overall, I am not sure if I would stay there again for business, but it might be a nice place to stay for a vacation with my wife.

I stayed here on Saturday night but arrived at 12:30 am and was out by 11 am so I didn't spend much time on property. But overall, I really liked the hotel and think it's a great option if you want to stay off strip.

This is sad, but I have to give recognition these days to any domestic properties that proactively offer elite benefits, and this is one of them. On arrival, they have a display on the wall next to the entrance that lists the first names of all elites, broken down by category. (FYI, I saw on the night I stayed, about 10% of the total rooms were occupied by AMBs, Titaniums or Platinums.). At check-in, my Platinum status was recognized, I was upgraded one category to a pool view room, was proactively offered my choice of breakfast or points, and also asked if I needed a late check out. Two bottles of water were in the room as well.

Breakfast in The Pepper Club was a la carte and quite good, and all of the more breakfast-like items are available under the elite breakfast benefit. (If you pull up the menu online, what is available is indicated with a "Token Eligible" notation.)

With no resort fees and free parking (for now, right?), this is a great option if the location works.

(Like the previous poster, I also did not receive points for my restaurant spend, and am wondering if it's some one off exception due to ownership of the restaurant or something.)

Does anyone know if the rooms here have a desk? Or does the property have a lounge where I could get some work done? The photos online don't seem to show one.
