Fall 2017 MegaBonus Terms and Conditions

*A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. [Although the T&Cs don't say it clearly, a stay can be as short as one night.]

Registration is required.
Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion by November 30, 2017 will earn one (1) free night award at a category 1-5 hotel (value of standard free night award ranges from 7,500 points for Category 1 hotels to 25,000 points for Category 5 hotels) after two paid stays* made between September 12, 2017 and January 15, 2018, at participating Marriott properties.
If a member completes two qualifying stays during the promotional period, an additional offer may be unlocked and become available in the members account within 2-3 days after the second qualifying stay.
The member may not receive additional notification except through their online member account and must register for the additional offer within two (2) weeks from the date the additional offer becomes available.
Maximum one (1) free night award earned with this promotion per member to be redeemed for a future stay at participating Marriott Rewards category 1-5 properties.
Free night award will expire six (6) months after the date of issuance.
An earned free night award is good for one (1) single or double occupancy standard room only and includes the cost of the hotel room and applicable room taxes only.
An earned free night award will be added to the members account within 3-5 business days after the second qualifying stay.
The awarded free night certificate is not transferable and may not be given as a gift.
Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit and Marriott Vacation Club owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for credit.
Stays at ExecuStay and Marriott Executive Apartments are not eligible for credit toward this promotion.
Only one room per hotel is counted toward a members nights or stay.
Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion.
For a list of current Marriott Rewards participating brands, visit https://www.marriott.com/marriott-re...earn/hotels.mi.
Stays at our exclusive luxury hotel partner, The Ritz-Carlton, will count toward achievement.
Rooms booked through most third party online retailers and select travel agency bookings are ineligible to earn for this promotion.
All Marriott Rewards program terms and conditions apply.

Thanks for posting that link... How do you register for this if not got an email, and is there any other promotion likely to run alongside this one over the next month (if that one is only for targeted members?) ?

Thanks

The link indicates that Megabonus registration begins September 7.

Today is only September 5.

I expect to see the new promotion on Marriott.com. But if it's not there on September 7, I'm not going to worry about it until at least September 12.

Marriott has gotten away from concurrent (usually brand-specific) promotions in recent years. But anything is possible.

Well, that doesn't sound quite right, given most of 9-5 is over, and no one appears to have seen the promotion yet. Which makes me wonder whether the agent was wrong about the 9-12 date as well.

I can't seem to find any Seattle properties that are 5 or below, certainly not downtown. The Fairfield Inn...at the airport...used to be a 5 but even that is now a 6.

While I've always been able to use my 5's I really think bumping it up to 6 is overdue.

I looked for my trip to PDX/SEA 5 months ago and I used my IHG points instead because there are tons of good low redemption options.

It can be a huge treat if you maximize the stay numbers. This could perhaps put me to focus on more Marriott for this Fall. It is basically two stays = 25k points.

I can immediately think of four stays in this month alone. Happy travels!

You do understand there is a limit of one free cert earned under this promotion?

Maximum one (1) free night award earned with this promotion per member to be redeemed for a future stay at participating Marriott Rewards category 1-5 properties.

If you earn the free night at the beginning of the promo, say before the end of Sept, is the certificate issued right away, therefore with an expiration date of the end of March...

Or are all the certificates issued at the end of the promo, January, therefore with an expiration date of July?

it is 6 months from the issue date and it is usually the "day of" of the "day after" the stay that trigger the promo get posted. So, the earlier you got the cert, the earlier your cert will expire. I recall some reports have successfully getting those cert extended, but some also having requests denied as well. So, it seems YMMV on this

The link in post 52 appears to be for UK as I got a not eligible message when I clicked on it.

However, just found an offer in my MP account:

"Get a free night after two stays* with MegaBonusand unlock more. Register from September 6 to November 30, 2017. "

T&C appear to be the same as listed above for the UK offer.
