Halifax- Which Hotel to Choose?

The Marriott is not available and they won't let me use my Plat. Override.

Any recommendations on staying at either Delta property and or the CY or RI?

I will be there for 3 days doing touristy things. Real bummed about the Marriott. Seems like the Delta's are worn down and CY may be the best option. It doesn't come with any benefits so I guess I could stay anywhere at that point.

What's the reason being given for not being able to use the Plat override? They can only refuse if they have an exemption.

The Delta Barrington has an exec lounge which is open daily. Delta Halifax doesn't have a lounge but provides full brekkie in the restaurant. Marriott's lounge is closed on the weekends (cont'l brekkie in the restaurant w/ $3 upcharge to full).

Cheers.

They said the hotel is already oversold that day. It is Canada Day.

We'll be there on Canada Day, too, but luckily on a cruise ship. Are you planning on going to the Tattoo?

We had the same problem and elected to stay at the Courtyard again. It is very central, has a great rooftop patio for watching fireworks and is directly opposite the Ribfest!

I heard the fireworks were going to be shot off from the top of the hill, not the waterfront per usual. Do you guys know anything?

that is what I heard as well. It is up the hill so you won't be able to see them from the harbour.

Yeah, bummer. We'll have to walk back up the hill again since we're going to the Tattoo matinee on the 1st. Oh well, good exercise.

I would go with the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. Excellent property overall.
