Spouse Silver with 2 nights this year. October BD got email
Me: Platinum, 4 nights from requal. August BD no email
And this week I got a tweet giving me 500 points for being a loyal MR member. 19 years yielded 500 points. Wasn't expecting anything so I guess it is still a bonus

All of their other promotions clearly mention a "register by" date. This one says nothing. We're thinking of doing a long weekend trip next week which would have qualified. Now I'm thinking of staying in a non-Marriott location because I'm so annoyed about it.

Glad I caught this thread! My email preferences weren't set, so I fixed that and hope it works. I already have a 3-night stay booked during my birth month.

Birthday Gift
With great fanfare and flourishes I just received my birthday gift announcement. With great anticipation and excitement, I clicked on "Claim Your Gift" to open my surprise gift and what do I get? A free elite night credit to speed me along to elite status. Nice gesture but totally irrelevant and useless for a Lifetime Plat member. What kind of dolts (who are actually earning a salary) dreamed this up. Why not flag LTP's and offer something of value like a cat 1-5 or 6 cert or some serious points--maybe make it member's choice .
I am still just rolling my eyes at the total stupidity of this valueless gesture. It is almost insulting that they cannot figure out who their elite members are.
