Reward Description 010 ROOM UPGRADE - 1 NIGHT

has anyone seen this line showing up on their reservation?
Reward Description 010 ROOM UPGRADE - 1 NIGHT

I made a reservation in Cat4 hotel and told it to use certificates on check-out.
The system picked earliest expiring cert which was 1-5, and next 1-4.
After the reservation I called customer service and they swapped 1-5 with 1-4 cert, and then an email came in:
Reward Description 79L 2011 VISA FREE NIGHT CAT 1-4
Points 0
Reward Description 010 ROOM UPGRADE - 1 NIGHT
Points 5,000
Reward Description 79L 2011 VISA FREE NIGHT CAT 1-4
Points 0

The cat1-5 cert is back to my account, and 5000 hasnt been deducted. Nor does it show up when I view reservation online.

Customer service doesnt see it either.

I am just wondering what it might have been, I've never seen it before on my prior reservations.

I wonder if you got an upgrade? I had something similar show up on my reservation in Hawaii. The property had a promotion going where all elites were automatically upgraded one room type for free. It showed the points for the upgrade like you mentioned, but they did not take out.

I've seen this deduction, per room, per night, when you go from a "normal" room into something that has a separate bed room ala a Vacation Club, maybe a RI.

I was at a vacation club this summer and went from 35,000 / night reward to a 50,000 per night spend because the only thing available was a 3 BR unit.

Might this be the situation?
