Earn quadruple miles with any one of the participating frequent flyer programs* starting with your second stay
*Enrollment and registration with Marriott Rewards are required to participate in the Quadruple Miles promotion. Existing members earning points must update their profile by choosing miles for their earning option and selecting a participating frequent flyer program before registering.
Remember that if you opt to earn miles, you will not earn Marriott Reward points (and the Megabonus bonus points which runs the same dates).
Also, only participating airlines:
Aeroplan (Air Canada)
British Airways
Cathay Pacific Airways
Delta Air Lines
Frontier Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines
JetBlue Airways
Jet Airways JetPrivilege®
LifeMiles (Avianca-TACA)
Southwest Airlines
United Airlines
US Airways
For almost all the airlines listed, you will receive 8 miles/$1 spent at JW Marriott®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® Hotels, Marriott® Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott Vacation Club®,The Ritz-Carlton®,EDITIONSM; and 4 miles/$1 spent at Courtyard by Marriott®, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott®, SpringHill Suites by Marriott®, Residence Inn by Marriott®, TownePlace Suites by Marriott®, Marriott Executive Apartments®.
The exceptions include: 1) JetBlue Airways you will receive 4 miles/$1 spent at all hotels; 2) Southwest you will receive 2,400 Rapid Reward points/stay
Additionally, you will need to change your earning preference to miles first before you can register.
To change your earning preference to miles: 1) Click on My Account --> Profile. 2) At the bottom of the page in the section called "Earning Preference", click the Edit earning preferences link. 3) You will then need to select the Miles/other program radio button, select the airline you wish to earn miles with and enter the corresponding frequent flyer number.
This is tempting, given that I'll only have one paid stay during the megabonus period. It's an expensive one too (probably about $2,000). I have a few questions, however.
1)Will switching to air miles affect the points I get from my Chase card? Would I end up getting air miles from Chase? If so, how many miles per dollar spent?
2)If it will affect my Chase card earnings, can I change my earning preference after my Chase points post (usually around the 3rd of the month), take miles for my stay from June 12-18, and then switch back to Marriott points before July 3 (when my next batch of Chase points post)? Will my chase points/miles be determined by my preference at the time of the stay, or the time that the points post? Do I have to keep the air miles preference for the length of the promotion?
3)Does the first stay have to be a paid stay? If not, I might trigger this by using my category 1-5 certificate.
4)The link to the promotion page doesn't work for me.

Unfortunately, we cannot direct you to your requested promotion at this time. For assistance with promotion registration, please contact Marriott Rewards Customer Support.
Is this because I am not currently signed up to earn miles, or is there another problem?

I would be very surprised if they would allow a rewards stay (which is what a free stay certificate is) to qualify as the first stay in order to start this promotion.
The link to the promotion page does not work for me either, maybe it is a targeted promotion, and not available to all elites or award members. It does not matter anyway, since Delta is not included, so oh well.

after i earn my 2 cat 4 certs it will be 4x miles for the remainig few stays during this promo. Unless I have a higher priced stay and will change to miles for that stay to earn more. Thanks for the heads up.

Do we know whether it is actually possible to qualify for two different promos during the same promo period? This is a question, not sarcasm, I really do not know the answer.

You cannot change your earnings on the Marriott Rewards Visa. The card will only give MR points.

Yes, you can qualify for two different promotions during the same period, but you can only earn one at a time. If you want to switch between Megabonus and 4x miles, you will need to toggle your earnings preference between stays.

Good to know, thanks. Have you actually earned two different Marriott bonuses (one points, one miles) during one promo period before?

Yes. During this past megabonus they had double miles running concurrently. after my four stays, i changed my earnings preference to miles, the promotions showed up, i signed up and earned double miles for my remaining stays through April. I currently am signed up now for both the earned nights and 4x miles promotions. My earnings preference is currently set to points so my stays after June 1 will go towards the 2 cat 4 certs.
