Hotel Website: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection
Official List of Cosmopolitan Bonvoy Elite Benefits: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/marriott-bonvoy-at-the-cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the only charges that qualify for Points are as follows:
- Room rate, room service food and beverage, in-room movies, phone calls and in-room minibar purchases
- Points cannot be earned on any other purchases at hotel outlets or for hotel services

The Cosmopolitan is a "resort," so basically the only elite benny is a possible upgrade. Elites are not exempt from the resort fee

Resort fee is $39+tax effective 01/01/2019. Also as of that date, parking (self & valet) is complimentary for hotel guests.

Cosmopolitan is exempt from providing free wifi to Plats per Marriott's T&Cs, however it is included with the mandatory $39 daily resort fee so there is still no extra charge to any guest for using it.

Platinums receive:

* use of Platinum check-in area (to the left of main desks)

* Platinum arrival gift is $10FB coupon or 1,000 points

* room upgrade (space available) - better luck on mid-week stays than weekend stays. sometimes a 'sandwich' (ie, bribe) to front desk does the trick.

* free tea/coffee 6am - noon in the plat lobby check-in area

* Wicked Spoon: Marriott Rewards Platinums (and PPs) get to use preferred line and get 15% discount when staying at the property. Just show your MR Plat or PP card.
You can book through Virtuoso as well as Amex FHR for complimentary breakfast buffet at Wicked spoon.

Resort fee:

* $39 (+ tax) per day for resort fee, which includes gym access, local + long distance calls, Wifi, pool access. The resort fee is not waived.

Receiving Bonvoy Points for a Stay:

Many have reported needing to follow up to have Marriott Bonvoy points manually posted post stay (they do not typically post automatically.) A tip is to email [email protected] shortly after a stay asking them to manually forward your folio to Marriott Bonvoy for processing.

Hat tip to billycwhatup for this:

* Identity points and MR points can not be earned on the same stay

Other tips

The Terrace Suites are the most common room type and are classified as studio and one bedroom, with options for King, 2 Queens with or without a fountain view. They are essentially the same size, however (10 sq ft difference), but the layouts differ.

The King Studio Suite has a standard bathroom with shower and tub, a living room area with large sitting area and an L shaped sofa and the bed is in a separate area, though not separated.

The King One BR Suite has the same kind of living room area, with the bedroom separated by sliding doors and the bathroom is larger, with a "soaking tub".

If you get a terrace suite of any kind with 2 Queens, the living area will be smaller.

And unless your room type is described as "fountain view", you aren't guaranteed it, though Platinum status will get you upgraded on check in if they have one available.

If you book any of these room types and want to aim higher, I would try a giving the receptionist a 50$ "sandwich", and ask if any wraparounds upgrades would be available. If they say yes, there is a good chance that it will be a wraparound facing south-east or south-west, which for me would be a no go. Taste in view is personal of course, but for me the fountain-Eiffel tower view are so much nicer than the south facing views. Also when you would have the choice between a low level wraparound or high level terrace suite, I would still take the high level terrace suite, because a number of floors on the east tower are blocked by the big Bellagio sign. (see youtube vids).

If you really want a high level wraparound then you probably would have to pay, which can sometimes be not that much. If I'm not mistaken I think they offered me a wraparound at 150$ per night more, but we originally booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view.

Last tip : If you would get the choice of wraparound I would definitely take a high floor east tower one, facing north-east. That would give you bellagio fountain + eiffel tower view, but also a good portion of the south strip.

Maybe you can help me out. I'm staying in a 3-bedroom Chelsea Penthouse Suite in a couple of months. Are there any special requests I should make regarding location?

You can also buy your way into the Platinum/Invited Guest line for $15 extra per person, for those without Identity/Marriott status.
Do I just walk up to the platinum line with my MR card?

I just did this today. I walked up to the Preferred line, or whatever it's called, showed my Plat status on the Marriott App, the cashier confirmed I was staying at the hotel and applied my 15% discount. Took no time at all. I was seated within 2 minutes while others were waiting much longer.

Just did this as well. Completed a 4 night comp. stay over the Memorial Day weekend.
At the Wicked Spoon buffet, there is a separate line for the 'Invited Guests', which includes MR Plat/Gold, and Identify Plat/Gold. They ask you for the room number and ID, and have a list of Plat/Gold's staying there, and will verify the list. They will automatically apply the 15% discount, didn't have to ask. Then, you are ushered to another area to be seated immediately. Otherwise, the 'regular' line, you will have to wait to pay (during busy brunch hour, probably 10-15 mins), then join another line to get seated(30-35 mins). We also did a dinner buffet at The Wynn, and it seems to be consistent with buffet waiting times. Its not that there are no available tables inside, but seems more of a crowd control. As we saw both places had empty tables, but there would still be lines outside waiting to get in.
Invited Guests also get seated in some of their preferred area's. There was only 2 of us, but they put us into the side booth closest to the food area, the booth was huge, can easily seat 8 people. A little more comfortable than the normal tables for 2; this was again without us asking.

I'll just continue with a few comments here on my comp. stay:
- I've stayed at The Cosmo once before last year in November, and made Identify Sterling. I did gamble there but not a 'major' gambling budget. Strictly table player, 25-100/hand blackjack for about 1-2 hours a day or till daily gambling budget($500) runs out. lol
- Immediately after that first stay, I was getting comp night offers in the mail/email for up to 4 nights + $50 dining credit. Only bad thing with the comp night offer is that they will only send the offer for the upcoming month. So in January, I would receive offers valid for Feb 1 to Feb 28th. So hard to make 'longer' term plans.
- This time, in April, I decided to use the 4 nights during the BUSY Memorial day weekend, was there May 27 through May 31. I was pre-assigned a One Bedroom Terrace room. This room is very nice, king bed in a room that have a pocket door you can use to close off, a separate living area, and then a 'dressing' area by the closet and bathroom. Its not as nice as the Terrace Wrap Around suite I stayed in last time, but the One Bedroom Terrace is just fine, especially when its comp'd.
- With using the comp offer, this also covered the $40 resort fee's, which was very nice of them.
- I ate 3 times within the cosmo, did the brunch at Wicked Spoons, lunch at Momofuku, and a late night snacks at Taleo. Each time I charged it to my room, and at the end of my stay, the dining credit was automatically deducted from the bill.
- I rented a car for this trip, and Sterling Identify and up members have free self parking, otherwise its $10 per day for self parking. I didn't check valet cost, think its like 20 or 25. I always prefer self parking over valet at a busy resort. Don't like waiting for car.
- The first day there, I would use the main entrance(Hammon Ave) to get into the parking area. This area is a zoo, between all the private cars, Taxi's, uber/lfyt, and tour pickup/drop-off's, there are lots of vehicle trying to squeeze into the single lane entrance. Day or Night the line to get into the entrance was crazy. After the first day, I found the back entrance straight from Las Vegas Blvd, the same side street to get into the Jockey Club to be much better. There never was any cars waiting there, can go straight into the self parking area. The parking itself was simple, just use your Identify membership card in the machine as you enter, and as you leave, and the parking is paid for. So I would advise, if you are using self parking at The Cosmo, to enter via the Jockey Club entrance, and not the main entrance, it'll save you time and headaches.
- The hotel/casino itself have a total different vibe than anything you will see in Vegas. We went to Bellagio, Venetian, Ceasar's Palace, Aria, and Wynn during this trip for dinner and/or gambling. By comparison to The Cosmo, these other casino's is like going to a senior's home. So be prepared of the demographics The Cosmo is trying to target. Good or Bad, its different.
- We went to the pool at the Cosmo twice, we did the Boulevard Pool one day, and another day we had to try the pool party at The Marquee. It was hard to find loungers at the Boulevard pool, but its very nice pool area, and its free access. lol....The Marquee day club had a much 'better' vibe, but the lines to get in was INSANE. Next time, we'll just be contend with the boulevard pool.
- If your timing fits, try to attend one of their concerts at The Chelsea theater. Its a fairly small venue, but the acoustics is awesome. The Cosmo comp'd tickets for us to see Foster The People, on Saturday, and they put on a great show. The concert goers were all into the music, and most was standing/dancing throughout the show.

It makes me sad when people put up with 6:5 blackjack, and Cosmo is one of the worst offenders. I guess that's more the norm than the exception nowadays, though.

I do agree; however, I've only seen 6:5 at $25 and lower tables so if you play the bigger tables it's still 3:2.

I have a week long stay coming up at the Cosmo - business trip.

Looks like a slew of dining options. I will probably check out Wicked Spoon, but any place else a stand-out?

Any hidden gems or other tips for the property?

I don't really want to play anything with higher than a $25 minimum personally. I have also seen $50 and $100 minimum tables at Cosmo with 6:5 - given, this was during a peak time, so it may have been tables that normally have a lower limit.

I do much of my gambling at PH when I stay at Cosmo - much more player-friendly there, at least as of the last time I was in Vegas (January 2015).

One of the celeb chefs has a small room off his main restaurant at Cosmo (got great reviews by some food magazine). Also there's a STK restaurant.

Cheers.

Are you certain you saw $100 6:5 tables?

For things that are hidden, the pizza place is always good. Rose Rabbit Lie is pretty cool if you want a "speakeasy lounge," and it is also kind of hidden.
STK is not hidden, but it is very good also, along with Holsteins. Eggslut looks really good too, haven't tried it yet.

Eggslut is great, very reasonable, also packed in the AM

Enjoyed STK greatly when I was there (March). Not cheap but very high quality.

Jaleo was fine - I love Jose Andres' restaurants, portions were pretty meager given the inflated Vegas pricing in effect. He also has the small tasting menu place noted but IIRC it runs like $250/pp before alcohol.

Also did Momofuku and that is always good.

Thanks Ski. The celeb chef table is probably overkill for me, but STK looks good.

Holsteins looks great, and I will try to search out Rose Rabbit Lie. Sounds interesting.

Thanks for the info. Not into the fine dining much, but the others sound great.

My wife and I are trying é (the tasting menu place) in July. It is indeed $250pp, and we opted for the $500pp wine pairings on top of that. This will be the most expensive meal on a per person basis we've ever had--I'll be sure to come back to this thread and report on whether or not it was worth it!
