World's highest hotel

The Ritz Carlton that will soon be opening at the beginning of 2011 has been coined as the world's highest hotel. It will occupy the top 15 floors of Hong Kong's tallest building, the 118-storey ICC building in West Kowloon.

The lobby (I can only assume it will be on the 103rd floor) is supposed to be at the same altitude as Victoria Peak (on the Hong Kong island side).

I'm looking forward to trying out this hotel when it opens.

I do believe the JW Marriott in Shanghai boasts the highest "library" in the world. The CL is at the very top of the building and there is a staircase leading up to a small library (with a secret door as well.)

So pretty much every day. Seems like there is never a clear day in HK anymore.

Sounds great, you could take some of the posters in this thread with you and you wouldn't need to order any whine.

I figure my room at the Marriott in Quito (2850m, 9350 feet) was higher I'm a bit of an elevation wimp and on my second night there, I felt so dizzy I could only move by crawling on the floor. (I didn't want to risk falling if I stood up.)

When does high become too high? I mean, really, I'd rather be on the 40-50 floor range so as to actually make sense of what I'm looking at. Unless you're into power trips where you enjoy seeing people reduced to the size of ants, this kind of height does you no good...

At least those of us with US passports can access it.

At least those of us with US passports can go there, unlike the world's tallest now, the Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang.

Don't think it's even functional yet. So no one can go there now.
