I've stayed there a few times the night before an early flight. Not the nicest Fairfield I've ever seen, but not a dump either. The staff has always been outstanding there.
Location: DFW; 2-time FT Fantasy Football Champ, now in recovery.
Programs: AA GLD 1.5MM, Marriott Silver; OMNIPat

The Westin Charlotte tried this, offering free SPG points. It took less than 3 days before the deal got shut down; I guess they got more friends than they expected.
If anyone plans to get in on this one, I'd suggest doing it quickly.

Am I the only one that thinks its weird the hotel should be using a hotmail account, rather than a Marriott one?
I though that was weird at first, but then I thought about it a bit & I figure there are a few reasons...
1) It's a very specific email address created specifically for this
2) It probably costs money to set up a Marriott email address that's a generic account for this one promotion.
3) They may not want to put someone's specific name out there because that way only 1 person who receives it can check it - but with a generic account, multiple people can access it while on vacation...
It seems weird, but it's legit - they had a sign at the front desk (so, if you're worried some random person making up a fairfield inn facebook page & gathering names & account numbers, I really don't think that's happening here)
