Dear Mr Marriott, just one small request for 2013....

Please make the Platinum Rewards card a different colour from the Elite room keys.

Thanks.

Do you realize that many other programs don't even have special keys for Elites at all???

And do you realize that each separate key design (especially when it doesn't feature advertising) costs the company extra??? (While some hotels see a lot of Platinums, others see very few. But they all get the same keys. So they'd go to waste at those hotels who see few Platinums.)

the MR cards are issued from MRs while the keys are issued by the individual hotels so I just don't get your point??????????

Perhaps he keeps both in his wallet.

I prefer the regular hotel keys vs the elite keys depending on which hotel I am staying at. The JW's have really nice room keys! I would much rather have those than the elite keys.

I don't get it. What's the point here? My Plat card is in my computer bag--along with maybe 20 other "unused" membership cards, but I have never pulled it out of the bag except once a year when I swap the new one for the old one. I have never been asked to display it nor do I voluteer to do so.

The keys look pretty much the same at every property (one of two or three options), so I doubt they all went and designed their own version that happen to look the same. I'm sure the room key design comes from the same organization as the MR card design.

It's never caused me a problem. Perhaps OP tossed his MR card, thinking it was a room key?

If I could ask one thing, this this would be, well, nowhere on my list.

even if so, no one ever asks to see it as when one makes the res your status is in the system and updated to the prop before ones arrival.............. if OP misstakenly tossed it, just press a button and re-order it if its so needed - NO problemo.............

I stay principally at Courtyards, and always(?) get given a grey keycard (seems to be what they give to Elite members when they check in).

It looks exactly the same as my Platinum card, just some different white text.

So I've taken / left the wrong card on more than one occasion.

In contrast, I really like the Hilton Elite cards, the membership level cards are completely different from each other, which in turn look nothing like the room keys. The Diamond level card actually looks like someone put some real thought into it this year.

It's just a small request. Y'all have got the rest of our collective whinges covered in a thousand other threads here.

But what's the point of even carrying the membership card around?
