Gas Stations Selling Visa Gift Cards (take Credit Card Payment)

7/11 (some 7/11 stores will deny if paying with CC! I place those locations on my blacklist ) [hard coded change end of March early April]
Valero (they *officially* stopped accepting credit cards for variable load VGCs late 2015, but started really enforcing it in January per a manager I spoke to in January 2016) / Houston Valero Corner Store (may it RIP all the way back to the VR days)

I visited maybe like 7x -4 locations that are coded as gas and attempted to buy OV with CC.
Very YMMV.
I've only found one location that I was able to pay with CC and had huge stocks of all GC. I bought one at a time every few days. I need 5 more still to max out my 3 freedoms.
All other locations either said cash only or had run out (lol)
Maybe someone in my area beat me to it.
I strongly recommend going early evening and not morning or late at night, and only buying one at a time.
Once you say $1000 or more cashier will get scared

I tried a KnG again after a year when they quit taking CCs for VGCs and PPMC. I just thought I'd try again to check if their policy has changed. The cashier was friendly, I told him to load $500 on the VGC and I just swiped my Freedom while holding my breath....it went through! I took my receipt and will visit there a few more times to complete the offers in other Fs.
It pays to keep on trying even those that previously hard coded their registers.
