Some do mobile deposits to UFB. Other than that, is there any meaningful purpose in keeping a UFB account at this point?

ST at least allows $2k a month (4k for an account with 2 cards, or so the letter from ST said indirectly). So that's 48k Skymiles a year for a $75 fee and maybe $30 in lost interest for keeping the $3k min balance. Small stuff but steady work at a good price.

No one knows yet. We should find out in a few weeks when miles post for June purchases. I'm doing at least one transaction in a few methods I've used in the past to test if they pay out. We all know that terms, explicit as they may be, aren't always enforced.

Sorry to revive an *almost* dead thread, but any updates on IRS payments or Property Tax payments?

I have a $5k Property Tax bill coming up in a month and they take Visa debit cards for a $3.95 fee (Lake County, IL through a company called Forte at https://www.billpayit.com/lakecoilpropertytax/Pay). If the limit is $2500 per transaction, I could get about 1700 AA miles for $7.90.

I do not know about new policy. But back in May (when category limit was not enforced) I paid property tax which showed as "DUPAGE COU POS DEB" as Debit card transaction. Obviously, I received the bonus.

I would suggest calling CS to clarify your question.
Post information here, once you get clarification.

One does not need to worry about calling CS if it’s a legitimate transaction. Its only cause of concern when one tries to fake the system by moving money from one account to another through various channels.

All MS transactions are legitimate. You ever see a single one getting DNA tested on The Maury Show?

Called UFB- They said that property tax and income tax payments do not earn miles. Said they are excluded with the "financial institution" category.

Dead to me.

So, outside of everyday spend (which no sane person would ever do for half an AA mile per dollar) is there anything good about this card?

A third of a mile per dollar. Look back a few pages for at least one possible idea.
