Discounts/rebates on Visa/MC gift cards at Office Depot/Office Max(2014-2017)

Receive a $20 discount when you purchase $300 or more in Visa or Mastercard giftcards.
  • Office max only, no office depot
  • Limit of two discounts per household/business, but this isn't enforced at all stores

$6.95 x 2 = 13.9 - 20 = -6.10 (profit) not including whatever card you are using to buy it.

This deal good at Office Depot too? I know they are essentially the same company but then I wonder why the deal says office max.

When Staples had it with a rebate, it said on the rebate: manufacturer: Blackhawk, so it is conceivable that Blackhawk or some other middleman pays for some or most of it.

thanks for the post. somehow i missed this.

i'm kinda surprised to see this again; as it certainly seemed OD had no interest in continuing this loss leader until xmas came along. i view this as likely the last one for a long while from OM. as i posted many months ago, before the takeover, these sales counted toward OM management bonus at the face value of the cards. OD killed that last spring.

my anniversary date just rolled over, so i've got most of my 50m left to spend on my ink. tough call as to how hard to hit this given the # of UR points i have at risk. hate to transfer them just to get them to safety. i did that last year to UA, days before they announced the devalue. with Singapore Air having been added, i would not be surprised if there are new attractive additions to the transfer list in the future. i wish Hyatt had a bigger footprint and more lower category hotels in APAC.
