Walgreens allowing CC purchase for Visa GC, appears seasonal

Last time I tried to buy 2 at once here in Utah (over 1.5 years ago) it actually locked up the register somehow. My local WAG stores have a limit of "$500 per type of gift card per day" policy, so I just grab one and go.

Last week's discounted fees on vanillas was the easiest we've done so far. In the past, there were stores that were adamant on the one $500 per day that it was a state law 
but last week, I was pleasantly surprised that none of the cashiers said anything about an order of $500, $500, $5Wgc. I usually don't ask but I saw one of the friendly STLs and asked her why there was no more hostility on selling GCs and she said they got a memo that increased the allowed limit on GC sales at $1199. She said she doesn't know how they decided on that amount...LOL It was all good and I was able to complete my $50K cap on two 0-busy cards. There's one more I have to fill so hopefully the discount on vanilla fees come again in a few weeks. With all rumors about d/c of the 0-busy, might as well get all my ardees in for redemption next month.
