Bluebird Load Limits:

Your account will be flagged upon first/second attempt. If blocked, call Account Protection Services at 1-800-660-2454 to clear it (9am-8pm EST, Mon-Fri).

Loading with debit card at Walmart
Self checkout does not work for loading.
Many Walmart stores are enforcing a rule against the use of gift cards when loading, even though the register and the MCE do not enforce. Do not make your prepaid debit cards visible. Show them a bank debit card if asked. Otherwise, you may be asked by management to never visit the MC again to load with gift cards.
Loads at register over $500 will sometimes trigger ID requirement. There is a limit of four swipes per transaction; this means your card plus three payments.
If your card doesn't say "debit" on the front, it isn't a debit card.
Please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manuf...bit-cards.html for additional information on using prepaid debit cards.

For online bill pay
- You can pay the credit card that you used to buy reloads
- Error 1302 means that you have 1 pending payment the same amount as the one you just submitted. For example, 1000 bill pay to sapphire preferred from Friday and then on Saturday you submit another bill pay for 1000 to sapphire preferred, you will get this error.
- Tip: if using online bill pay to the same place multiple times, vary your amounts by $0.01 to make it easier to track since your confirmation number does not match the tracking number on your credit card statement

Training a WM cashier:
- If the WM cashier doesn't know how to load the card, advise them to enter "70" then press "action code".
- If you are using a temp card that doesn't have your name on it, you can swipe the card from your side of the terminal. The WM rep never has to touch any of your cards. The screen will say "enter account." That is your prompt to slide the card.
- The terminal will ask the WM employee if you are loading in multiples of $2000. Advise them to enter "no."
- Avoid saying gift card. Always refer to your card as a debit card.

Say you run three BB accounts: yourself, two family members (A, B, C). Would you even have a twinge of concern at paying A's credit card from B or C's BB account? I was recently reading several threads regarding folks who were shut down by a certain credit card issuer, and I don't recall reading any specific description of someone having a problem from doing that, but I figured no harm in asking first. For what it's worth, the billing address associated with the A & B Bluebird accounts is different than the one associated with C's account, but the surname on each account is the same ("Smith").

I'm trying to push the panic button yet but has anybody been successful at loading Kate with metabanks or us banks today or yesterday? I got the debit not authorized printout last night on 3 cards purchased from different stores. I reset the pins and tried again today with the same luck. I also tried loading different BB cards (and no I'm not past the monthly limit)

No problem loading $200 GCs from Staples to BB at kiosks at two different Walmarts on 8/30 and 8/31. Waited til the last days of the month to make sure no better loading option came along. (Also, fyi, struck out trying to load VVGCs that I've had since before they stopped working).

Loaded $2000 from OV and $500 from Metabank VGC through Kate tonight. Of 4 OVs; 2 worked first time, 2 took 2 tries.

Got Shut Down in Jersey
The ATM has been shutdown at one of my local WM, so I used the register to load yesterday without an issue. Today, different story. I got shut down at two WM at the register using a MB GC. Not sure what has changed in a day, or if it's something I'm doing. The cashiers also went out of there way to make sure I was using a debit card, and not a GC, which was a first for both of these locations, so I had to use slight of hand. I didn't get busted, but both times the transactions were rejected. Just sharing to see if anyone else has run into issues today.

So, I had a impatient person come up and basically demand I let him have the Kiosk to use the atm today. I had loaded $1000 on a total of 3 swipes and was on my final OV for the month to load bluebird. The final $500 failed 4 times before working on the 5th time. He basically had no patience even though I said I just needed to load this last card. Just a word of caution for the OV users, its definitely not guaranteed to work on the first time and if you run into the wrong People of Wal-Mart it could cause issues. He was basically yelling out to the line why I was using a card that was giving errors even though I insisted it would go through and I would let him have it in 3 minutes if it kept erroring out. So, I think Kate yelling card not accepted may eventually be the end to this and we need to try and mute Kate as much as possible.

Just my 2 cents but I think in the future you should really consider letting the one person waiting in line go ahead of you. Its just not worth hassling over. In fact when I go to CVS to buy my OVs, if there are 3 ppl in line that have 1 or 2 things, I would much rather let those 3 ppl go first before I do my $5K purchase so they don't have to wait for me. Sure I have to stay at CVS longer than I need to be but I just don't want to be a dick and hold up the line especially if there is only 1 cashier and not to mention having the other people waiting in line hear when the cashier yells out "Your total is $5049.50" which is rather embarrassing. But I can tell based on your join date and post count that you are new to this so you will learn soon enough how to avoid drawing attention to yourself.
