Bought 3 VR today (one around 4:30 EST and the other two around 5:30 EST) from CVS using gift cards.

All three initially gave Card is Deactivated (4002), and then the first card loaded around 6:40 EST. The other two are still not working.

Seems to be pretty random timing. I've been on hold with VR Customer Service for over an hour...

Anyone else have any luck?

Yes, I bought 3 at CVS today at 3:00pm CA Time, receipt says activated but not loading now (nearly 2 hours later).

I picked one up around 3pm this afternoon and just took my first shot at loading - error 4002. Receipt has the 'prepaid card activation will occur within 24 hours' message on my receipt (with the correct serial number), so guess I'll be trying again later or tomorrow then calling Incomm...

To close the loop on this - just tried again and it loaded successfully (~10 hours after purchase)

When does the VR reload turn over?

I know there is a $5,000 max in terms of VRing a Bluebird account. Is that month mark on the 1st, a month from when you first completed a VR reload or a on the day you opened your account?

Danke!

Between all the activation issues, the long hold times when calling customer service and the scavenger hunting we have to do to even get the Vanillas, I'm beginning to wonder if this is worth it. I'm not there yet. Just beginning to wonder.

Why not just buy them when you're in the city?

I am not advocating this, but just posing a question. I cannot find any Vanilla Reloads in my area unless at Walgreens (Cash Only). What if someone were to walk out with two unloaded cards there and take them to CVS to have them load via credit card? Thoughts??

Other than the person doing it is pond scum?

That it is wrong?

That the same person would probably also see nothing wrong with buying a diamond ring or bracelet online at Costco.com with a Visa card and returning it at a Costco store and getting a cash refund because the stores have no way to credit back to a Visa card - and then boast about it?

How about grabbing a few bags of chips and a six-pack, walking out with them and paying for them at a CVS as well? Don't try to tell me it is any different.
