The more people they (WF) shut down, more likely they will be shut down by the authorities for violating something - somewhere, (we hear things all the time on TV or newspaper) people who still have wfpp stay light on the loads, because you do not want to be stuck in the middle of the mess....

I'm worried about getting shutdown, so I'm gonna go drain my card of $3K in the next two weeks with no loads or other purchases.

Seems a bit self fulfilling, dontcha think?

Sure does.

I'm going to tread v-e-r-y lightly on mine, in hopes of staying below the radar.

Anyone have ideas of how to avoid these shutdowns? Put some DD ($500/month) and more small swipes on the card to make it look more legit?

Seems to me that WF is looking for accounts with low profit generation to shutdown. More swipes would make them more money, so more swipes should lead to lower chance of shutdown.

Has anyone been loading $400 at a time at Walmart instead of two $500 loads each time? Seems like if you are making two smaller transactions or loading non round number amounts it might look a bit like "structuring" and anger the cardinals even further.

Going to stick to my current pattern and hope for the best. If I have to make 3 WM trips a week for this to work it's not really worth it.

Amazon Payments should be shut down by authorities. And Chase. Also CitiBank. Serve too.

Looks like WF has caught on and decided to shutdown this product for miles collectors. Saw below message on Account Summary page,

Effective May 1, 2013, the funding card must be a Wells Fargo Debit Card or Wells Fargo Credit Card.

It was a good couple of months. Much of the way to 10k status miles on USAirways and a good chunk of the way towards a free night at Fairmont plus two stay credits toward platinum.

I can't really complain too much about that. Thanks Wells Fargo.

Wells fargo has a rewards card with 3X points at drugstores for the first 6 months.

Sadly the T&C says no points for cash advances of any kind, and I'm willing to bet all my points that a load to their own debit card is considered a C.A. and doesn't earn points.

Given my plans for the next 7 weeks I assume I have a good chance of being shut down. How long did it take to get the refund check?
