As usual from travel journalists, this is a poorly researched piece. The Four Seasons Hotel, New York's Ty Warner Suite rack rate is $35,000 a night which includes everything (caviar in mini-bar, table at L'Atelier every evening, cars on hand etc). It is a 1-bedroom suite, not a 9-room suite.
I do wish that journalists would take the time to get their facts right.

$35,000 dollars is approx £21,500 at a rate of 1.62$ to the £ which is about right
While not doubting that there are individuals and companies who are able and willing to pay $35,000 a night, it would be interesting to know how many nights of the year that the FS New York actually sells at $35,000 a night.

I believe the list omitted:
The Bridge Suite at Atlantis (was #1 on the Forbes list many times)
Hugh Heffner Suite at The Palms as well as many other theme suites
Atik Pasha Suite, Four Seasons Bosphorus (18,000 EUR)
Royal Suite, Four Seasons Florence (14,500 EUR)
Ritz Carlton Suite, RC Tokyo (JPY 2,000,000)
I am certain many of the Royal Suites in Paris now command in excess of 10,000 EUR in 1 BR configurations which should be enough to make the list....
Finally, this is my 5000th post!! Half-way to Evangelist!!

Thank you!! I started off in the Air Canada Forum when I first joined FT but the Luxury Hotels forum is now my "home" forum and I too am happy that I hit the milestone here.

What were you saying about travel hacks getting their facts right.....?
Normally when you talk about 'rooms' in a suite, you mean bedrooms. the Ty Warner has 1 bedroom, but it does have several rooms, including a meditation room - I have seen this suite and I can count.

The FS website refers to 9 rooms....I would suggest that when marketing a room one uses the words that are most likely to sell that room for the fee you want. "This is a 9 room suite" might work better than "this is a 1 bedroom suite" when you're asking for £21,500 a night.
