not a great experience - there for a wedding. while the villas are nice, they have been standing a long time and are quite old...which is fine as it fits into the bali village theme.
what's not fine is the bathroom on my arrival. toilet seat had hair and dried piss on it. house keeping cleaned it up pretty quick after i complained but what the hell....isn't this the four seasons?
probably should have had them change the bedsheets as well, just in case.
truthfully i probably should have written a letter to complain. anyone else experience something like this?

But they just finished completely renovating the villas - big change from the original design. Never experienced anything like the toilet seat problem. You really should have written to GM John O'Sullivan about this.
...not exactly the post I wanted to read as I sit in the SQ F Lounge awaiting my flight to Bali and stay at Jimb then Sayan. I'll report in with my initial impressions.

$250 a night? This is the best offer I heard of FS JB. I know about $350/night, but $250 is a great rate! They really offer great rates if you get the right person to deal with.
BTW, has the new Resort Manager of the FS Sayan arrived yet? She was supposed to come from FS Maldives.

Ill arrive there over the wknd and may have an answer re: the new resort manager. Im not one to try to linger with mgt (in my hundreds, if not thousands of lux hotel stay nights I met the 1st GM of any property just yesterday; a feat I am proud of!), but I will ask if the opportunity arises.
Contrary to the OPs report, I find Jimb.'s physical plant to be in fine order. The density of the villas is a problem here of course. I was interested to read in Sharp's book that the resort was designed as a Regent and was under construction during the FS' buy-out/merger. Although that is no excuse, it may explain some of the differences in ambiance vs. that of the smaller Sayan property that was constructed as an FS.
The service is spotty. Examples include an hour plus wait for just a cold dessert via villa service with no attempt at recovery, beach attendants absent for 30-45 minutes, unacceptable levels of language barriers (waitstaff should know the menus they are serving; there is no excuse for that. It's not as if we were asking for something special that they may not be familiar with), concierges with no clue on how much a cab costs to Kuta or Denpasar proper. These are all minor issues, but they add up to make me mark the property down for its service.
FYI...I am writing this post from Jimb on my outdoor breakfast table watching the sun rise out over the island. : )

Enjoy your break! I hope the service picks up from now.
