Best Luxury hotel gym?

Hi,

What would you rate as your best Luxury hotel gym? I am now getting into much needed shape, and one of the criteria for hotel is also the gym.

My favorite pick so far is the Four Seasons Bosphorus.

Thanks

Four Seasons The Ritz Lisbon has an amazing gym on the top floor, plus an outdoor running track on the roof. It also has a terrific spa and indoor pool. Service is very good here but the corridors and rooms need a massive refurbishment, so it all depends upon your priorities.

I normally take a break from going to the gym while on holidays. My husband, however, tend to go twice as much. His favorite gym so far is the one at Hospiz hotel in St. Christoph, Austria.

The ideal gym lets me continue my workout routine uninterrupted. But that is rare.

Dumb bells over 50 pounds are important. Again, a rare sight. A nice array of universal equipment is also a plus. All decent gyms seem to have bikes/aerobic, though some lack on quality.

I like the Reebok Sports Club combos, so:
-RC BC
-RC DC (22nd), though it was a charge when I was a regular here 1-2 years ago
-FS SFO
...might be one or two others...

Others that come to mind that I like:
FS Tokyo Mar
Park Hyatt DC- sort of dingy setup, but nicely equipped for a small gym
FS Chicago
RC SRQ
MO DC
London NYC

I was a member of the One Aldwych Health Club for 3 years and while it was a compact facility it was perfect for my needs. It remains one of my most favourite hotel gyms.

I also like very much FS Marunouchi, FS Singapore, and FS Bangkok.

Great views from the gym? Park Hyatt Tokyo's 46th floor gym where the aerobics equipment overlooks either Tokyo city or, if it's a clear day, Mt Fuji would easily beat any view of Lake Michigan in my book!

Probably the best luxury hotel gym that springs to mind is the one at the Mandarin Oriental in Singapore. Big room, nice equipment, elegantly decoarated (atleast for a gym), an attedant dedicated to the gym to bring you towels, etc, headphones attached to exercise bikes changed after each person, moist eucalypt-sweeling hand towels cooled in fridges, etc. Very nice set up.

For me it has to be the FS Canary Wharf. They use the Virgin Active gym on the Thames.....great gym, the most amazing river views from the pool & massive steam room, hot tub areas.

The most luxurious gym option

The most luxurious gym option is to have your own private gym in your suite. The best I have seen is in Suite #201 at FS George V Paris - a 16 sq metre space which includes the latest Kinesis equipment. It was designed with help from their GM, Christopher Norton, who works out every morning. There is everything you need for a full workout. The suite is pretty nice, too.

Pen HK is amazing---great views...attendent to bring you anything and good locker room
Pen Chicago
Pen New York--treadmills look out on Central Park...its like you are running on 5th Ave 60 stories up.
FS Chicago is pretty good
Ritz Naples is very funcational.

Better thread would be worst gyms in a luxury hotel...

The US hotels connected to Sports Club/LA's (R-Cs in Boston and Washington, FS in San Francisco) probably have the best gyms outright (I will admit to being a member, so may be somewhat biased). But IIRC, the gym at Claridge's, with its view of the roofs of Mayfair, used to please me greatly.
No gym without windows would ever get my vote, so I would have to disqualify One Aldwych on that basis alone (plus its lack of a Stairmaster or other stepclimber last time I checked).
