Four Seasons Preferred Partner - standardized amenities

Four Seasons has just announced a standardized Preferred Partner amenity program at all Four Seasons hotels and resorts. Quoting from the email blast:

For existing and new reservations from April 20 and beyond, your clients will receive the below Preferred Partner amenities:
• One-category upgrade based on availability at time of check-in
• Welcome note at check-in acknowledging travel agency/agent and amenities being extended
• Daily full American breakfast for two through In-Room Dining or in the hotel restaurant (including buffets)
• Preferred Partner Value-Added amenity (minimum value: USD85)
Here's a link to a list of amenities by property.

This is big news because every FS property is included (including properties such as New York, Hong Kong, Hualalai, and Nevis which are neither Virtuoso nor FHR). This has been a long-standing request - and Four Seasons has come through!

That is an amazing deal. Even if they were only offering breakfast, that's a hefty saving.

Is this amenity regardless of the room category booked? Can it be combined with a 5th night free deal? If so, that is great news.

Up until now, Preferred Partner amenities have been combinable with any published rate, including free night rates. It's definitely applicable for any room category.

Yes... regardless of room type booked (some suites get more). The rate should be any public rate or promo. No wholesale or negotiated corp rates.

There is such a thing as a free lunch

Just want to make sure I understand this - I only get this deal IF I book through a TA, i.e. not if I book direct with the hotel? (4S newbie here - apologies for the dumb question)

Correct. You have to book through a TA who is affiliated with a FS Preferred Partner agency.

Hard to see how this one is worth $85. This is essentially useless, virtually all Tokyo luxury hotels offer everyone in-room private check-in and it is routine to get late checkout. However you left out the one free lunch, that changes it to worthwhile!

As DavidO said, you have to book through a travel agency that Four Seasons has bestowed their Preferred Partner status to. I know of two (and there are certainly more):

Sterling Brownell
PROTRAVEL

If anyone knows any other agencies, please share. (There were some issues about sharing specific agents in an earlier thread -- I hope it is okay to share agencies.)

  • Lunch for two once during stay excluding gratuity and alcohol (up to $85 USD)
  • In-room private check-in
  • Late check-out at 2:00 pm
  • Welcome Amenity
