OT: Netjets / fractional ownership discussions

I know this is totally off-topic, but it struck me that this may be the best forum to find what I'm looking for

Does anyone know of a discussion forum for users / fractional owners of Netjets and their competitors to compare experiences? Are there any such users on the FT site?

I'm seriously contemplating buying a share in an aircraft. I'm based mainly in Europe - currently looking at fractional ownership in Netjets, buying a card from Bombardier Skyjet or continuing to do ad hoc charters from Lufthansa Private Jet etc.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I do not know either if this is the correct forum, but would be interested to learn of others experiences. There has been a bit of discussion on the LH board about Lufthansa Private Jet, but to hear about other services would be very interesting- particularly for EU travel.

Not exactly a forum, but there's some information to be found at RobbReport.com:

Thanks for this

What I'd like to find in an ideal world is a forum where I can get some real-life experiences and advice from people who have already made an investment in netjets or their competitors

I've used LPJ around 8 times in the last year and they were excellent. I;m not sure how their model will change now they've broken with Netjets. They don't know either - my sales rep told me honestly that she doesn't know yet how it's going to work in 2008.

The overall cost per hour of a 1/8 share with NJ is less than ad hoc charter, and you get guaranteed availability. But I haven't drilled down into resale values, customer care etc.

depending on how far you normally go, you might wait and see what happens with VLJs (~1000 mile range) before buying a fractional.

This is something I have always been interested in, but never really looked into it. Not for everyday travel, but on occasion for group vacations or family trips. Anyone know for example if you can get say...Net Jet from chicago to San Diego, or do you have to buy in to a program? If so, what is the cost, and how many can it accomodate?
Any information is appreciated.

Enter Shaircraft Connections, an online forum where private jet travelers can meet to ask questions and share insights with their fellow flyers about the myriad companies and plans that fill the business travel space...

...“It’s better from the perspective of the fractionals to keep owners isolated. Until now there has been no way to counterbalance this power by helping private flyers band together,”...

...Through its ShairSales service, members can buy and sell fractional shares without paying the heavy fees normally charged by brokers and fractional providers. Its ShairValue service lets members see the resale values that providers are paying for fractional shares.

Through its ShairRide service, members can also use the forum to arrange rides aboard each other’s flights...

In North America...check OurPLANE.

http://www.ourplane.com

VLJ fractions.

They have their own ops certificate and have been in operation for 10 years.

And...as any good Fter would ask, 300k Amex MR points with purchase.

great deals to be had on empty legs - not sure though exactly what you would have to bid for a transcon in a G IV. Maybe worth a little FT luxury addict get together.

Kind regards,

Sebastian

Interesting indeed !

I'm wondering from what point on they consider the offers...

If it says Value 4800-9500$ how low can you go ?
