Your favourite hotels worldwide

There are just so many people asking questions about hotels, but not too many reviewing or giving their opinion on their favourite hotels, so that is what this is thread is about. What are your most favourite hotels that you have stayed in worldwide.

Mine would be:

Four Seasons Chiang Mai (Chiang Mai Thailand)
Hotel de la Paix (Siem Reap Cambodia)
Peninsula Bangkok (Bangkok Thailand)
Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong (Hong Kong SAR)
Grand Hyatt Shanghai (Shanghai China)
Palace Peninsula Beijing (Beijing China)
Park Hyatt San Francisco (San Francisco California)

I have to say, Asia has the best hotels (In my opinion). I haven't traveled as much in Europe as I have Asia.

The "Best City Hotel in the World" thread started by Nacharia last fall wound up going in the direction of "Favorite Hotel" and included discussion of whether a person's Favorite differed from his estimation of the objective Best.

My vote for Peninsula Bangkok as Favorite and Peninsula Hong Kong as Best can be found in that thread.

Well, I was sure someone had already posted a similar thread, but people are always joining, so I thought I'd just bring it up again.

If you think this tread should be deleted, then report it. I dont mean to be mean or anthing, I was just saying.

I guess this thread consolidates many other threads as people are given the opportunity to post their vote for "best" hotel in various cities around the world.

For me:

New York: best - Four Seasons favourite: Waldorf Towers
Bangkok: Four Seasons
Tokyo: Four Seasons Marunouchi
Whistler: Four Seasons Whistler
San Francisco: Four Seasons
Vienna: Imperial

Philadelphia: Four Seasons

I'll add the Four Seasons Chiang Mai (for the facilities and grounds), Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (for the service), and Kempinski Ciragan Palace in Istanbul (for the setting and view).

Also, the Bellagio in Las Vegas. It earns a place on the list because it is so outstanding given its scale.

I haven't been there in a while but had sensational service at the Shangri-La in Jakarta. I tend to agree with the OP who noted that the best hotels are in Asia. [Mandarin Oriental and Peninsula in HK].

Haven't travelled the world like many of the posters but felt the need to add a few on my favourites to this list:

Anguilla: Cap Juluca, Cuisinart Resort & Spa, Malliouhana Hotel & Spa (All three award winning resorts)
Antigua: Curtain Bluff
Barbados: Sandy Lane (Tiger booked the entire resort for his wedding)
Belize: Turtle Inn (owned by Francis Ford Coppola)
British Virgin Islands: Peter Island Resort
St. Martin (FWI): La Samanna
St. Lucia (my homeland): Ladera Resort. I think that it is safe to say that this is one of Oprah's favourite places to stay in the world.
United States (Miami): Setai. Mandarin Oriental

My Favorites

International - FS Sayan, hands down...stunning architecture, amazing service and VERY private villas.
Domestic - Park Hyatt Chicago. I stay for free constantly on points and they treat me like I own the place!
