Soho House Expansion
Good news for people who like the Soho House concept: Their founder Nick Jones just sent an e-Mail to Soho House members, announcing some more Houses, which are all a mix of modern style luxury hotel (also bookable for non members) and club:
"Soho House Toronto will be housed in a three story building located on Bishop’s Block near the Theatre District. The late 17th century structure has been recently restored and will feature a Club floor with Bar, second ‘Pretzel Bell’ Bar, Club Restaurant, House Kitchen & Deli and a partially covered roof terrace. The club opens during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Set over 10 floors of a converted building in the Juhu district, Soho House Mumbai will be both a hotel and a club. A large Cecconi’s underpins extensive club spaces including a screening room, gym, spa, lounge areas, Club Bar and Drawing Room. There will be 4 floors of bedrooms, event spaces and a roof top sun terrace with a pool and sea view.
A disused 1907 warehouse, once a rubber belt factory in the Randolph Market area, will be our Soho House Chicago. Three separate public restaurants will make up the ground floor with Cowshed spa and the entrance to a 12,000sq ft gym. Upper floors will feature bedrooms, event spaces and screening room, with the main floor split out into the Club Bar, Games Room, Drawing Room, House Kitchen and Pantry Bar. The roof offers an infinity pool, courtyard and glass orangery with bar and grill.
Soho House Istanbul will be our biggest House to date, occupying the former US embassy site in Beyoglu. An Ottoman palazzo with Italian frescoes will house the Club spaces (Club bar, lounges, terrace, dining area, lounge bar) as well as feature a ground floor Cecconi’s and terrace, as well as a rooftop cocktail pool. Two further buildings will incorporate our hotel rooms, spa, gym, ballroom and screening room.
Last but not least, Soho House Barcelona is a six story former 19th century apartment block. With 360 views, the roof top pool, bar and dining areas are based around a central glass atrium with the major club floor (House Kitchen, Drawing Room and Club Bar) just below. 60 bedrooms are on hand with gym and fitness studio facilities as well as a ground floor restaurant."
Additionally, they announced an expansion of their nice Berlin House:
"We’re also unveiling 20 new apartments in four different sizes at Soho House Berlin soon. As of early July you’ll be able to book yourself in at the House complete with kitchen facilities…stay for a night, a month or just move in. Throughout July and August studio apartment rates for members start at €128 per night."
Their existing properties are: Berlin, Miami Beach, West Hollywood, New York Meatpack, one retreat in Summerset, and five in London (of which three are bookable as hotels).

Was just in Berlin and spent time with a friend staying at the property there. They have really nailed it there. Of all the houses I have visited, I enjoyed this one the most. It's not on the most lively block but the facilities are superb. Sadly, the staff said the house is rumored to not be doing very well.
