Concierge Services in Five Star Hotels

When we are in FS or RC or Pens or other five star hotels we generally have them make our dinner reservations, which we usually have researched first so know pretty much which ones we want. But it seems that lately we are not getting good tables and I would like to know if you all think the restaurants do not give their good tables to hotel guests - would we be better making the reservations ourselves?

I think that giving feedback to the Concierge is best -- while it might not help you out that point, it can help other guests, but also the Concierge could make a note about it and try to ensure you get a good table the next time you stay at that hotel. Or, you could always ask to be seated elsewhere once at the restaurant.....

However, sometimes, we might not even be able to make a reservation at a restaurant ourselves, but through the help of a Concierge, a table just might open up. Sometimes we can't even get a reservation clerk on the line, let alone, make a reservation....

Still, I find giving feedback to the Concierge and establishing a good rapport always help. . .
