- 130-room Tschuggen Grand Arosa Switzerland >
2 December 2016 ... Private Mountain means enjoying the privilege as a Tschuggen Grand Hotel guest of having the vast ski area exclusively to yourself. Be the very first guest in the ski area
- Scarp Ridge Lodge Colorado

at aman's le melezin courchevel, tim weiland seems to have returned to aman
making 'long-time' GM helene serane seem to be another aman GM departure
apartments - if that is open, is there a rental program or private rentals?
anything happening with proposed/announced six senses megeve hotel?

As for SS Courchevel - yes, you can rent. It's a bit like an upscale aparthotel.

Re European resorts at Christmas, my experience has been that they are often pretty quiet in the week before Christmas / over Christmas itself and generally start to fill up on about the 27th / 28th (date depends on when the weekends fall) as people go skiing for New Year after spending Christmas with their families.
The resorts won't be quiet but they will be a lot quieter than over New Year or at any time when the French are on holiday (almost all of February).
Although the snow looks good this year, I would be very tempted to choose a high resort for Christmas skiing as it will be much more snow sure. That tends to favour some of the French resorts but, with the exception of Courcheval, many of the most luxury options are Switzerland / Austria. I would also not discount a luxury private chalet as opposed to staying in a hotel especially if travelling with 4 or more people. I think the more homely feel and big sitting areas etc fit a ski holiday better than some hotels and at Christmas, the skiing days are short as it is dark not much after 4pm.

I have four days at the Waldorf in Park City. While the hotel is on the Canyons, we usually ski at DV.
Then in mid March I have four days in Jackson Hole, staying at the Amangani. Will likely only ski one day on that trip.
Will certainly report back on experiences, but I imagine both those hotels and resorts have been well covered.

In the off chance that I would ever get a week to fly from Maryland over to Europe to ski (ok, please stop laughing...it's hard enough getting time to go to Utah), where should I look?
What has easy access to major airports? Do people mostly train from say Geneva, Zurich or wherever? Or shuttle? I would think it would be better to not fly over the Atlantic and then have a hard time getting to where I'm going...
Thanks!

I don't think you will be disappointed. The team at L'Apogee is predominantly made up of the staff from Chateau Saint-Martin (with a few from Eden-Roc). We stayed at CSM for a week in August and the service was perfection. Despite a throwaway comment about one of our dining choices that week the Concierge team is about the best I've ever come across.
