Thanks guys!

Booked a harbor view superior suite at the Pen. I agree with views on FS club and spa. First rate. I also like the Upper House - amazing rooms. This being the rainy season, I'll skip the RItz for now and spend some at the Pen spa. Thank you all for the insights and collective experience.

Someone mentioned 'Disney' in relation to IC Danang earlier. Think that fits the Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong quite well too.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents with another vote for the FS (excellent club lounge & pool), but since you've already booked your room at the Pen I'm late to the party. Enjoy your stay!

One night in HKG before heading to Amanoi - flight lands at 5AM. Flight the following day is at 8:30AM.

Obvious choice has to be Pen for flexible check-in times, right?

Dying to try the Upper House but doubt they'd let me check in at 6AM...

I first tried UH when Chrissie Lincoln left Aman for Swire -- very good indeed. And they graciously offered to let me check-in at 8 am. But if you aren't intending to reserve the night before, Peninsula is the natural choice!

Now it ' s TUH & often split with MOHK ( for the spa & harbour views / towards Kowloon , Elements to Kai Tak , etc )

Enjoy the spa. The pool and deck with the harbor view is a magical experience

Agreed, we are planning a return trip to HKG in the future and enjoyed the Pen. That said, I'm quite intrigued with The Upper House, but I keep thinking about how much I enjoyed the pool, spa, and deck at the Pen.

Will be a tough call.

Regards

I tried the Ritz again recently at club level. It is not my usual hotel in HK, because like others, I prefer staying close to Central. I would say that if you are not at club level, your experience can be a bit of a zoo because the lobby does have a lot of visitors. I also think that the club level itself is not what it once was in terms of offerings. Having said that, though, I had a lovely stay and the club service was quite good. If I was stuck in Kowloon, I would easily take it over the Pen, because the Pen truly teems with tourists in the common areas. I also find the access to Kowloon station much more convenient than accessing TST from Pen.

In Central, I don't get the love for UH.

Need to stay at Pacific Place 7/1-7/5. How would everyone rank the hotels on property? I'd imagine UH is high on that list for many.

Yes, for me UH is head and shoulders above the other options at Pacific Place. I do think Cafe Gray Deluxe is no longer what it once was though.

RC is in a horrible location. Penn is has the best view and is very conveniently located. FS location ok, but not as good as Penn. FS hotel itself is better than Penn.
