Exclamation FlyerTalk Expert Hotel Review format 2.0

Hello!

You may have noticed the orange "New Hotel Review" button here in the Luxury Hotels forum. This is the *new* version of the hotel reviews format that we have created just for FlyerTalk, based on feedback from a group of FlyerTalk Luxury Hotels beta testers several months ago.

This review format is a new type of post on FlyerTalk, and is designed specifically to make it very easy to write reviews, post photos (yes, even from your smartphone when viewing the full desktop site in your mobile browser!), and more.

The new review type looks like this:

Four Seasons Prague review

For now, the 2.0 format is available only in the Luxury Hotels forum. We continue to contact the writers of existing hotel reviews and ask for permission to move their existing reviews into the new format for them. At some point in the near future, we plan to begin opening the review format up to the rest of the hotel forums, and beyond -- but nothing is being moved into the new format without permission of the original author.

We are making a few new pages that will explain the new post type and walk reviewers through exactly how it works. We will also have a simple video demonstration of how to use the new post type.

We’re already hard at work building a library of property pages that will aggregate some of the review data, and soon we’ll be adding search capability by rewards program name, hotel category, and more! The property pages look like this:

Feel free to try it out and provide additional feedback in this thread! You need not make an actual hotel review -- you can just test drive the functionality and at some point we'll clean up the test reviews on the back end. Post away -- we'd love to know what you think!

Thank you -- and happy reviewing,

Paul
