amantaka house tours

I just got the list from amantaka. I'll try to post the info when I get to a computer. Do any of the experts here have any recommendations? Don't miss excursion? Do miss one? Total of 3 nights so perhaps a 1,2,3 ranking?

Thanks
Fdw

Well , take a look & list your preferences . Will give our thoughts after , but best not to cram in too many ' tours ' for 3 nights .
However , I won ' t miss the sunset cruise , just stay on the boat though .
Also a visit to the hill tribes will be good unless one has visited others in the region . Gary T & team can advise even after arrival .

We stayed 6 nights and did the following (one activity per day was included):

City walk with temple visit
Baci Ceremony
Boat at Mekong and visit to the cave
Market visit and cooking class
Bear sanctuary and waterfall
Hill tribe visit
Early morning alm giving to the monks.

For us the boat trip and the market visit with cooking class were the highlights, but all activities are great, so it really depends on what you have done and seen before and what your interests are.

Thanks for all the info...
Great trip report Musken... for some reason when I first read the trip reports for Amantaka I somehow glossed over the activities. In yours, and a couple of the others, there is a lot of info on the activities and would have answered my question. Seems like the boat is a nice trip; but none of the sideshows. I wonder if my parents will have a different perspective on the trip given that they were raised buddhist...

Your parents will likely appreciate being there & to experience the cultural aspects of the area along with the monks daily early morning walks ..
Assume they are very mobile .
Pity you can ' t join them .
