Would you have more interior pics to share? How was the service there?
Do you mind sharing how to get it for 1000E? I can only see 4000E...
We are planning our own Venice trip and I was thinking Aman, but
now I prefer to go back to that E&R terrace suite...
I have some pics on my drive, not on my website, so I need to find them.
The suite is not large, but very "historic". You can actually see it
in the movie quite well. Except they moved the sofa to the bedroom...
E&R might have been a miss for some, but we really liked it.
Service was very good, everyone was super nice. Great breakfast.
We also stayed in the roof terrace suite there and it's quite something
if you like panoramic views Mr. Ripley suite is "better",
but you might want to try both....

Haha, my bad, the E&R website says daily rates from EUR 955 for deluxe terrace suite, though when I did a detailed search, nothing less than EUR 4000 came up!
The view from terrace is certainly gorgeous and picture-perfect! If service is good, it is definitely on my list

The Bauer has some beautiful suites for less than 4000 eur and has excellent service.

"Very expensive yes, terrible picture quality this is untrue. B&O design is very unique, you can like it or hate it, but the quality is exceptional."

If you want nice designed remote control made of quality materials i agree, but if we speak about picture quality...

Picture quality is great.

I went to Venice once only. We stayed at Bauer Il Palazzo on the last floor with a view over the Campanile. It was great and much less than 1,000 Eur per night.

Unfortunately, this thread is going very far off its original intention. We are now discussing the Westin, which is a very different experience than an Aman. With 185 plus rooms compared to 20, its an entirely different experience. Its also at the end of the day A Westin... You can probably make a similar case in any city about how a Westin for a third of the price of an FS or a fifth of a price of an Aman has a great experience, but I have never been to a Westin that ever compares to any top hotel in the city it's located in terms of the personal guest experience and amenities... The E&R has a great location and views but unfortunately, has a so-so tired product but to be fair for Westin, this is perfectly fine since its a Westin.

While yes those suites have nice terraces, the interiors are dowdy and cheap. The food service is typical four star cuisine. It's great if you want a bargain and a view not necessarily a top shelf experience.

I like the Bauer... Is it an Aman? No, but a great experience.

Trickster, I have never had any complaints with those TVs.

IF aman rooms start at 50m2 thats largest base room in venice, right? (by far?)
indeed - on the giudecca, cipriani (again same price) is half that, as are all bauer which are 25-30m2
IF true shows how discreet aman is not advertising this kind of thing "biggest [base] rooms in venice now open!"

Sorry if I dragged the discussion off tangent...
got a bit carried away by the "talented Mr. Ripley" suite (big fan of the film)!
Dear Mod, please remove my posts you deem off topic

totally agree westin is on a completely different level of service compared to an Aman.

Gallivanter's has the best taste of anyone in the travel industry.

It's a stunning property and there is nothing in Florence or Venice or Rome that can easily compare.. except for the FS which is one of my favorite hotels in Italy..

Hot, heady Venice in June; home of Illy Coffee and the Biennale, but mostly home to the new Aman Canal Grande, which is where I am.

The Tiepolo Suite, reached via a fast and furious water taxi riding the wash, then a swift cut through to the Grand Canal, and there she is

I have, of course, seen photos and even videos, but rather like the Taj Mahal, nothing can prepare you for Aman Canal Grande, #Venice

Have you been? If so, I think everyone here would love it if you could write up a trip report (even a little one would be greatly appreciated).

"unique" because aman managed historical private residence with renovation

Note that other resort-like properties in Venice are located on other islands in the lagoon (e.g. Cipriani or the San Clemente (the latter now closed)) nice views but not in the middle of the action and connected via boats.
So the Aman will be basically in an "urban" setting which, in my opinion is great because it is at a walking distance from many many attractions in Venice.
It is true that it is not far from the touristy Rialto Bridge, but in Venice if you skip the itinerary marked by the yellow signed (packed with hordes of tourists, souvenir shops and horrific restaurants with plastic menues) there are hundreds of peaceful and magical calli and campi (streets and squares). Campo san Polo is the closest square which is usually busy with locals.
In short, the property is amazing (grandioso!!) and so it is its location, very quiet on the back and with a jaw dropping view on the Grand Canal on the front (Rialto on the left, gorgeous Palazzo Grimani in the front and the Ca Foscari bow of the canal on the right).

The San Polo/Santa Croce neighborhood is, indeed, a quiet respite from the bustle and noise that can pollute even glorious Piazza San Marco, especially in the spring and summer. This area is where my wife Judith Goodman and I lived during the six years we worked on our book 'Serenissima: Venice in Winter" www.veniceinwinter.com ...location was wonderful. We were only a short walk from the San Stae vaporetto (where we could see the opulent Casino across the canal) and the neighborhood itself was clearly the 'real' Venice. It is to neighborhoods like this that we now lead groups of photographers every January for our 'Unseen Serenissima' photo workshops.
"advertising" but could still be valid

in rome there is residenza napoleone in (the residence) Palazzo Ruspoli
which is kind of like when Palazzo Papadopoli rented out apartment(s)
reports incl princess ruspoli 'hosting' guests, not sure re when Papadopoli had apt(s)
Papadopoli = aman venice
