Hotel Sacher Vienna

Has anyone stayed at the Sacher since all rooms were fully renovated last year according to the hotel?

Just left there this morning after a wonderful 3 day stay. Booked a Deluxe Room and was triple-upgraded to a Deluxe Junior Suite. After seeing the room we asked to move since it felt dreary (cream and red that looked dated).

They then moved us to a Deluxe Top Room which was a single upgrade. The room was renovated less than a month ago and was stunning (although much smaller).

Do you think their deluxe junior suite was not recently renovated? I booked a junior suite but thought all their rooms were renovated last year.

I suggest you email the hotel to verify. All rooms were renovated "recently", but not all last year. The deluxe junior suite we were initially in was renovated a few years ago vs the new room being renovated a few weeks ago.

the ones you want to get are most probably the new rooms on top of the hotel with great views. it's a fantastic hotel, you ll enjoy it in any case. Make sure to call them in advance if you really want to have the new or renovated ones.

I tried just now but got a long run around about how it could not be guaranteed that it would get newly renovated rooms, even though arrival is just 3 days away.

from my times working at hotels i remember - the more you asked, the higher the chances of getting what you wanted
if you really want it, keep on calling tomorrow and the day after. Usually room assignments are done 1/2 days in advance, depending on the hotel.

most of the hotel was renovated. All suites have been recently redone. Sacher provides great service and will certainly do everything to ensure you will be happy during your stay. Great location, good restaurant for lunch and dinner, breakfast is best in room service. Gym and spa are new but they do have some rooms with odd shapes and sizes as it is an old building.

Stayed there twice. My opinion is that this is not 5*. However, there are no great hotels in Vienna.
