THE Hotel not to be missed

Which one is THE Hotel not to be missed absolutely in a life time. That property that, absolutely, you MUST see at least once.

I don't mean to give rules, but It will be appreciated just ONE hotel, THE Hotel, in your eventual post.

I'll start myself: to me THE hotel not to be missed is "Il San Pietro" in Positano.
Reclamed to the rock it is a unique architecture that meld within nature. Every room is sea front view with a terrace and you get one of the most impressive view of the planet when, at sunset, Positano starts lighting on.

What about you?

No, cannot choose just one. Impossible. I stick to my lists of best this and best that. Or if I have to choose, it must be Amanpulo.

I don't know why I have the feeling tha resorts will tend to be named much more then great city hotels.

It would be nice to hear what makes that special Hotel unique and unmissable.

I'm proud, at the moment an Italian Hotel seems to be the favourite.

@kage: thanks, I agree it will be great to comment on related topics re: what makes that special hotels so memorable and what can harm its uniqueness.

@Musken: I know it's hard to stick with one :-)! Are you sure about Amanpulo? it is not your opinion influenced by fresh memories? I read you just got back from there!

LOL and I was worried that someone had actually started a thread about THEHotel (Vegas) in this forum!

I don't qualify as an AmanJunkie yet, but my experience at at Amankila was quite wonderful. I know there are better though. I am not really qualified to add much to this discussion.
