My colleague had a suite in the pan pacific and I visited him there. Different style, but I preferred Raffles.

At Amanpuri now, which is what a luxury hotel should be! 😃
Interesting. How was the rice quality and vinegar use?

I've never had a problem staying rather late in the club after check out. Also I generally can stay in my room well past 4pm as long as it's available. I usually fly out around midnight.

As for the lounge hours, I can't recall. At this club I've usually had enough to drink by the time 9pm rolls around! If it is important to you, give the club a call and ask.

Well balanced. The selection of fish was traditional and similar to an omakase you would get in Japan. In NYC, for example, I feel like the types of fish are different.

Surprisingly so. Saw five tables at breakfast and dinner yesterday. Pool area was full during afternoon tea. My guess is that it rained nonstop for three days, so as soon as the sun came out, everyone left their pavilions. Paul says their occupancy is actually pretty low now.

Puri pool area is usually busy at tea time

Did you use the beach club pool ?

See Harish N ?

Enjoy Puri & beach .
Lovely clear day here , at Nusa beach club . " Cool " breeze , thankfully .

Many of the SIN PanPacific rooms have good views unlike Raffles with none .

I guess I liked raffles because it seemed more private. Our conference was at suntec, and all the participants were staying in pan pacific (the conference hotel) or Conrad.

Was down at the beach the past couple days but didn't make it to the pool. Maybe I'll try again later. Who's harish? I'll look for him later. They took us on a tour of the 3, 6, and 8 bedroom villas this afternoon. Pretty amazing. But, I'll settle for just getting another amanjunkie tshirt for now.

I liked Raffles too when we stayed ages ago for the privacy , restaurants & shops back then along with the spa .
PanPacific must have been a " zoo " then . Their Japanese , Keyaki , is decent & often the " go to " before the newer ones came on the scene .
Conrad ' s Chinese restaurant , Golden Peony , is also very good .

Harish N is Hotel manager , was GM at Bagh .

You should take a look at the phase 1 & 2 villas too if you haven't , different from the latest ones ..

Yes , pick up the Amanjunkie Ts , do check the size though . Puri has theirs in both black and white .

Enjoy .. Looking forward to babi guling , etc tonight .

I checked and harish isn't back until next week, so we will miss him. Yes, we saw the different styles of villas-doesn't seem like any of them have beach access though.

We got white tshirts this time since we got black ones in SP last month!

That figures , you would have seen Harish otherwise .
Some , maybe 3 , villas do have beach access but not the best beaches ..

Good choice on the Ts , am using mine now !

When you are through SIN again , which hotels might you want to try ?

I don't really know. Nothing really excites me about Singapore. A client took me to the basement of the grand Hyatt this time, which was strange to say the least. Very unlikely I'll stay there in the future!

Saw Harish today during checkout. Nice guy--gave us his card and said he could help plan a trip through Rajasthan next year!

I mean Brix. At least I learned that the girls can get a room at the GH for 81 SGD per night. Except, they take a piece of your soul (and more money) as commission.

Raffles Hotel in Singapore is being closed at the end of 2017 for at least 4-6 months for what is seen as a needed renovation.

So at least for stays in January 2018 to April 2018, this hotel won't be much of an option.

We cannot decide between the FS and the SL in Singapore this time. (we travel with children if that makes a difference and as much as I love FS hotels and this one looks awesome, the pool at SL looks great too)
We have stayed at the MO on previous visits but as much as we love the hotel, pool, service and suites there we are not enamoured with the location.
